Which means I can't edit the script without the game crashing badly so what do I do?

a faster and safer way is:

go into dos, go to the script dir and typ this command "script script.txt"

this will generate the 2 .DAT files and ALSO STRINGS.H
then copy the STRINGS.H to the TRLE folder

OR:

edit the English Script.bat file and place "rem" in front of the last line "del strings.h"
that way, the batchfile won't delete STRINGS.H after the compiling process
