Melanie, you have to put the Falling Block in the room BELOW the one you want her to fall from and place to Dummy Trigger there.
Try,it works.

Could I get a SMALL prj file, just one room, nothing special, no textures or wad (although I need to know which of the standard ones to use) or some detailed step by step instructions on how to do this from someone - I'm having problems too.

qulatopec ??

Well, create a door between 2 rooms, place the falling block on the bottom room and set a dummy trigger up!

Sussed it!

I built 2 rooms (stacked) with a door between, toggle opacity, and applied the fallingblock object (which I merged into the tutorial wad) to the underside of the ceiling in the lower room

Then I applied a dummy trigger on the floor of the lower room for each fallingblock object above

And it worked so I assume I got it right!

Thanks for the help, especially melanie who mailed me

Another trick mastered!

Nope
- no sound yet
- but then I copied the object into the tutorial wad
- get's round all the scripting lark and allows me to experiment easily
- I didn't set up anything to do with sound
- since the spikes in my other trial room make the right noise, I assume I've missed out something...

Urm - I haven't got as far as sounds yet

If they're in the wad I'm testing stuff against they work - otherwise not.

I'll have a llok at the issue.

Which TR version and level are the falling blocks and crumbling floor panels used in???

I've played TR 1-5 and Golds where appropriate and can't remember - DOH!

If you point me in the right direction, melanie, I'll see what I can do....

there's a breakable wooden bridge in Angkrace.tr4, it's kinda similar to the one you're looking for

also, take a look at 002213.html

Yeah I know - had to replay the start of TR4 to hear what the collapse should sound like.

Every time I build based on the angkor wad it crashes the system on exit from the level.

I extracted the falling block into the tutorial wad and it works OK but no sound

Reading the manual and other posts suggests that the sounds should be automatically paired with the animation but it isn't happening.

I'll have to re-install the editor files and have another go.

Just read
002213.html

It may hold the answer!!!!

Read Tensions bit

>>>>
well I got the sound working for it too
what you do is, change the id of the level
using pcwadsfx

I typed

pcwadsfx mylevel b sounds.txt

copy the new sam and sfx files to your wad dir

and volia!

Hope this helps - I'm still not with it yet today so I'll try it out later myself

I was just being cautious, having read but not tried the solution.

As an IT Professional I don't say 'It is the answer to your problem' unless I'm sure of my self.

I was suggesting that the solution to the posted quesry might also be (is?) the answer to a question I had been asked.

I still haven't had time to verify that it resolved the question I had been asked -

xref 004939.html

Glad it worked for you - may do so for me too :-)

Please excuse the cross posting

OK sound with breaking floor now working - Credit to tension for this in
002213.html

I have used TRWest to add the falling block item from the angkor_race ead to the tutorial wad

I then used pcwadsfx tut1 #b to build the sounds required and copied the .sam and .sfx files as per the SFX_Example.bat file

I actually used a modified copy of the bat file to do it all.

Crumbling floor with sound -
