Topic: How many rooms can you have?

Anyone know? I'm trying to determine absolute limits for my PRJ fixer. So far I am up to 1200 rooms in my project, and it hasn't stopped me yet. Anyone know what the limit is?

No, it is really 1200. But when I tried to load the project again, it only created 1133 rooms. When I tried to Select Room, it crashed the editor. Obviously the limit is less than 1200

I'm sure you can have that amount of rooms in the editor. But have you actually tried to play the game yet? 2 words spring to mind........... Lara Slow motion

i didn't split my rooms, and i didn't copy any room! it doesn't happen after i deleted a few rooms and it's back again after a few other rooms are back. i think it is the problem and i hate it! i just hate to split levels!!!! is there ne1 that can help? i will be willing to give you the prj!------------------ GeckoKid Interactive IP: Logged |

Although there are no real limits.. The Room Limit is 255. The Editor stores 1 byte for each door made. (i dunno how you got so high but i sure know why it crashs)------------------ http://members.tripod.com/tr_central/ IP: Logged |

Actually, doors take 42 bytes each. There is a limit of 20 doors per room. I started deleting rooms, and the LE didn't start acting normal until I got to 400. I think 300 is a practical limit, above that there could be some problems that are hard to track down. Geckokid.........boxes are the gray squares that block an enemy from passing. Apparently there is a limit, and you reached it. Let your enemies run free!!!  And I thought I had found all the limits - I never thought about boxes, beetles, and things like that. Back to work.
