*bump* is used if a question has not been answered for a LONG time i.e. it has not been answered for at least three days.. It should be used sparingly as it annoys people if anyone keeps bumping their particular question. Generally speaking, be patient and wait for an answer before using *bump* because it is the equivalent of gently harassing people.
