dont know if anyone else has had the head aches with this editor, illegal operations and unstable machines, i have watched my mates pc's going haywire. The same pattern is shown when using tr5 edit it saves worm like data on the hard drive while you defrag you can see this, it makes the hd act up. I have put so much work into this editor but it just messes my machine up, with dx8 it just does not want to know, i get D3DIM.dll causes an exception etc. it worked with dx7 but then messed my machine up, i have tried with other hd's but still this happens, my mate has a voodoo2 and i have a voodoo3 it woks on his machine with dx8 but not on mine. Am i alone in this or does anyone have these problems, having to reinstall the editor frequently, i am no novice i have used other editors which work fine, anyone who has similar headaches, or any problems let me know that i am not alone, i have made all my own textures and made a large level which i think would have given quite a few people some enjoyment, but it seems for nothing now.IP: Logged |

Suggest try 3DFX website and check you have latest drivers http://www.3dfx.com/downloads.htm Quite a few people have experienced trouble with Voodoo cards... I have 2 Voodoo 2's connected (scan line interface mode) and a 16Mb Viper 550 Had a bit of a job getting tomb raider to run let alone TRLE Up to date drivers fixed it all Move like the proverbial horse waste products off a shovel

Hi username2,It seems that many people have had problems with Voodoo cards: 000039.html 000162.html 000325.html 001834.html 001926.html Some people have managed to fix it or get round it - it might be an idea to email them direct (look up 'Voodoo' in the Search link at the top right hand side of this screen). Sorry I can't give you a solution to your immediate problem but I just wanted you to know that this card has been very problematic in the past - so you are not alone. If Conan's helpful suggestions do not bide you well then I suggest you move over to an NVidia based card as they have always been well supported by Core Design. Good luck, WBM IP: Logged |

I have heard of people having problems with lots of things after installing DX8. It appears to have some problems, especially with backwards compatibility.I have had no problems on my ATI card using DX7. I haven't upgraded to DX8 yet because of the problems reported. But I'll be replacing my MB soon, and the new one requires upgraded ATI drivers, which require DX8, so I may have problems yet. This really sucks!
