I seem to be spending a long time on one room while level editing. How long do you spend on your rooms?------------------ ------------------ IP: Logged |

Well it depends how big the room is. Let's say about one evening or 2 per room. And these are normal ones like 5 squares. Corridors are just one our to make texture and light. But spending 5 almost 6 month now on Lara and the last crusade.IP: Logged |

I've been working on the editor for a month or more and still not started putting a room together yet....If you want to produce a polished result, tweak textures etc. etc. it takes as long as it takes. You have to know when to let go of it and send it into the world though. Some people just run through and miss the subtleties.... Just my view ------------------ Conan the Barbarian IP: Logged |

perhaps this is slightly out of context as I'm a Treditor3D level builder insted...however, i spent 3 weeks building/ texturing/lighting the 5 stacked "rooms" for my central *pool room* oasis area in my TR3 Journey to Sumeria level. i'd sketched this before; i knew what it's proportions should be; the mechanics of building a very special "focal" room for a TR level are simple: hard work ! From one hour to a whole month... Of course it depends on the size and modeling complexity of the room in question. Iīm very careful with the look of my levels (maybe thatīs why I have so many problems). My first level "City of Blezqi Zatsaz" was built in three months. This second one "The Buried Temple", is 50% complete, Iīve started it last april. Thereīs a stack of big rooms in there that took me three weeks to build (and I still did not finish it).IP: Logged |

I basically build as I go, having a plot of course. But I basically build the entire thing quickly then go back and detail each room, lights textures, and objects. So I take about 3hrs per roomIP: Logged |
