...in the making of a subway level.

The first time I made the train, I loaded an updated texture, POOF!, "Roomedit has performed an illegal operation. Roomedit closes.". The second time, when I loaded an updated WAD, "Unknown poly type "X", mesh X...etc...etc...". The third time, after I added poles to the train, I added a light, the light replaced one of the poles, I tried to delete the light, when another pole was deleted, I pressed delete on the light a few times, and suddenly all of the poles was gone, and the light stood there and laughed! I pressed delete hundreds of times until this came up: "Wierd things happened in light deletion" or something similar. I saved to "Subway.PRJ", loaded it in a clear Level Editor, "EVIL: Unknown object type detected" a few times, then "Arg list too big", and finally: "WARNING: Texture file ".PCX" not found" & "Roomedit has performed an illegal operation. Roomedit closes.".

I wonder how many times I'm going to build trains that crashes...

Anyone else had these problems, all gathered in a row?

I always put each new project in its own folder,

....\maps\train

and save each program to a new version file each time I change it

e.g. train1.prg, train2.prj etc.

That way if something goes wrong I don't lose the whole thing.

The time between saves reflects the amount of effort it will take me to get back to that point from a previous save.

I never trust to luck - Windows and other software let me doen too often.

My moto is Save soon, Save often.

Send me the PRJ, I MIGHT be able to make it loadable. At least it will make for good study so I can make my fixer program better.
