Due to lack of time and severe lack of sweetie money / candy cash, I am applying for a new level builder / designer job here in the UK and have decided to take off my Mod hat. No need to say goodbye as I will continue to be here as a Member..

I have enjoyed working as a Moderator but am no longer able to give it enough time. So, before any rumours start flying around I want to confirm that this change is not because anything bad or evil has happened, rather it's because something good and nice has happened: since the new Mods arrived the forum has become largely troll-free and is a much more pleasant and productive place to be. So it's a good time for me to return to being a Member.

Also, as we are all about to vote, it will save time if we kill two Moderators with one brick.

I will remain a Moderator until the winners have been announced.

And now, on with the show..

Here is the official list of candidates for the election of the two new Moderators (in alphabetical order):

Before casting your vote, consider carefully the history of the person you are voting for. The main qualities that the Administrators are looking for in a Moderator are someone who is: helpful, knowledgeable about the TR Level Editor (not necessarily an expert), fair and professional.

As the final decision lies with the Administrators, it is very unlikely that they will grant this position to anyone who has caused trouble in the past.

If an elected candidate is rejected by the Administrators, the candidate with the next highest amount of votes will replace them. Newly instated Moderators will undergo a trial period until they have satisfied the Administrators and existing Moderators that they are suitable for the position.

The deadline for voting is 2nd October at 8am (Pacific Time - US & Canada), 4pm (GMT): London. We will announce the winners on 5th October.

How to vote:

1) Email your UserID followed by the UserIDs of your 1st and 2nd choice of candidates to:

official_trle_moderator_vote@hotmail.com

Example:

1st choice: OorWullie
2nd choice: SoapySoutar

The two moderators with the highest amount of 1st Choice votes will win. (2nd Choice votes will be used to decide winners if there is a tie between three or more candidates).

For example:

If Bob, Rita and Sue all receive 10 votes, their 2nd Choice votes will be added to their 1st Choice votes as follows:

Bob got 10 1st Choice votes and 13 2nd Choice votes = 10 + 13 = 23 total.
Rita got 10 1st Choice votes and 17 2nd Choice votes = 10 + 17 = 27 total.
Sue got 10 1st Choice votes and 8 2nd Choice votes = 10 + 8 = 18 total.

In the above example, Rita and Bob win as they have the highest amount of combined 1st and 2nd Choice votes.

So, please be aware: the 2nd Choice vote is not for the 2nd Moderator position, it will be used to prevent a tie between three or more winners. As stated already, the two moderators with the highest amount of 1st Choice votes will win.

Your vote will never be released in public. You must disclose your UserID in order for your vote to be valid.

As one of several measures to prevent cheating, we may send you an email from official_trle_moderator_vote@hotmail.com asking you to confirm your vote. If you receive an official email asking you to confirm your vote, in order to have your vote counted, you MUST reply to this email before 4th October.

The official sender of emails regarding the Moderator election is: official_trle_moderator_vote@hotmail.com. All other sender email addresses are not official and therefore we are not responsible for any information you disclose to emails that do not have this full email address as the sender.

Rules

1) You are only allowed to vote for official candidates (listed above). To be eligible to vote, you must have registered as a Member or Junior Member of the Eidos Interactive Forums before 31st August 2001. In addition you must have posted at least one TRLE related topic in the TRLE forum before 31st August 2001.

2) The deadline for voting is: 2nd October at 8am (Pacific Time - US & Canada), 4pm (GMT): London.

The time zone displayed in the Eidos TRLE forum is Pacific Time - US & Canada. To find out the equivalent time for where you live, go to: http://soul24-7.com/worldtime.htm

3) You may only register your vote once (one vote includes 1st and 2nd choice).

4) Anyone who is found to be cheating will have their vote nullified and may be banned from the Eidos Interactive Forums.

5) If they wish, official candidates are allowed to vote for themselves.

For your information: As the TRLE Moderators have access to the vote counts, they have cast their votes early to prevent a situation where close ties could be tipped towards their preference at the end of the election.

I am honoured. Thank you for the "Voice of Wisdom Award" - I have polished it and it goes very nicely with the "Strange Voice In My Head Award" - both of them now sit on my mantle-piece. It has always been great fun to talk to you. I will still be around and look forward to spending many more happy hours in this lovely forum of ours.

Only the two winners will have their votes announced in public (on the forum). However, all official candidates will be able to request their personal results to be sent to them privately by email.

I will buy a bike from you djbrighty and rig up a dynamo so that I can use it to provide electricity for my computer thus saving money on electricity bills.

Driber, I have no room left in my cupboard - it is full of broken keyboards (I bounce my forehead off my keyboard every time Windows crashes - yes, it is a big cupboard).

I'm afraid that I cannot spill any beans or soup or anything for that matter. My new job is.. oops my connection has gone down..

In case you are as confused as I am, VOTES REGISTERED is not a list of people who have been voted FOR, it is is a list of people who have MADE a vote for one of the official candidates.

If this doesn't clear things up - please explain how you know whether you have been voted for or not. Only the Moderators have access to that information.
