I have been spending an awful lot of time on four rooms. Almost about 2 weeks. I know that this question was already asked, but how long do you spend on one room/multiple ones? My level is only 20% done and I have been working on it for almost a month and a half!------------------ http://www.geocities.com/hicho15/Lpage.html IP: Logged |

Sometimes a room can become over-perfected. If you make a room, make sure that you know what the purpose of that room is going to be - before you build. For example, I am going to build this room with a ladder because it lets you get at the switch that will open a door somewhere else. Why have I made this room at all? I have made this room because jumping around ladders is neat stuff. Ooh, I better add more ladders so you have to do a funny jump thing to get on the ledge. There. Now the basic function of the room is done. Texture...light... now I think I'll add a pillar or two, some objects, there. - And that's where I usually stop. I find that if I keep coming back, I will eventually ruin the room. (wouldn't it be neat if there were vines hanging from the ceiling?!) I try to do a room all in one go, and then only tweak it if something is really bugging me about it. (ok, maybe one vine.) I usually spend about 10-15 minutes on a room, but these are usually grouped in layers of 3 to 6 that make even larger, more complex rooms. I usually spend about an evening or two on a particular location.[This message has been edited by Raider of Tombs (edited 09-25-2001).] IP: Logged |
