this seems all to common amongst unfortunate people sorry emough to buy tr5 with edit software, i had already bought and finshed tr5 on the dreamcast so i wanted the editor, could have sworn it was on the internet, maybe my copy is hosed, i have my system running better than it ever has due to all the effort i have put into running this editor.I get this winroomedit caused invalid page fault module WINROOMEDIT.exe at 015f:00437068 registers eax=000001cc cs=015f eip=00437068 this is the first line as you can see it is the same as the at 015f:00437068 is there any indication through these codes to maybe track down such a problem. i turned down my hardware accel but this made the prob happen when loading the editor. i have tried dx7 dx8. i have tried different drivers, updated everything bios etc, i have 128 mb ram, voodoo3 pci 2000, no sound card, which might be causing a prob, i have the editor in the correct drawyer and paths all correct, 16 bit correct res, the correct refresh rate and plug and play monitor to 3d card has been set correctly with powerstrip, everytime i try to choose find objects ilegal operation, if i set a trigger illegal operation, my mates machine is a voodoo2 and mine is a voodoo3 but my proj and his editor work fine, if anyone can share any new light and advice, i have done all the usual stuff. put it in 16bit and 24bit, IP: Logged |

Melanie was trying to be helpful....She'd obviously read your post, couldn't help, but bumped it for you so that it would stay high enough up the list to be conspicuous enough to get a reply...  I had problems with TRLE initially myself - I have a 16Mb Diamond Viper 550 AGP video card and 2 PCI Voodoo 2's in SLI (scan line interlaced) mode I updated the drivers and it all sorted itself. I don't know where you got your drivers from - mine came from 3DFX. If you'd like to give me your complete system spec. thanx for the advise and help, i was offlined due to probs. i sorted the problem i just installed win98 SE and it works my god, i have been non stop creating making up for all the lost time, i also think that the browser ntl software is making my machine unstable, but for now i am over the moon my level 1 2 3 and 4 are all underway, i think not being able to use it for a while gets the creative juices going, also thanx to the person who bumped me up, apologies for not knowing what this meant. Good luck to all those learning like my self also thanx to this editor prob i have learned quite abit about my pc cool. by 4 nowIP: Logged |

So not TRLE - but rather Microsludge OS at fault - now I've never heard of that happening before Whilst gearbox is good for geting things set up initially, and good for fixing problems, it does seem to get in the way and consume a lot of resources... It can be temporarily disabled (without uninstalling it) with a little registry tweak. Run regedit (close all other apps possible first) Find the entry HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Microsoft\Windows\CurrentVersion\Run "D:\Gearbox Connection Kit\bin\confsvr.exe" and remove the VALUE part NOT THE KEY i.e. "D:\Gearbox Connection Kit\bin\confsvr.exe" save and exit and restart and voila - no gearbox to re-enable reverse the process suggest kkep this tip safe somewhere for reference. ------------------

since installing my internet stuff again i cannot select the find objects, as soon as i load wads and textures and then select find object illegal operation, my ntl disc seems to give me alot of crap for some reason, i am thinking of just doing without the internet and get a cheap pc made up for the internet. thanx for the reply i will try it outIP: Logged |

I have IE5, Outlook, Outlook Express, 2 A/V packages and a Firewall all running smoothlyI've recently added MSN. I have gearbox installed but disabled per my previous post All running OK ------------------
