I know that I have been gone for a while but I have been busy with school and what-not. Anyway, I have made my first object for my level. The level is of Lara's Home from the movie. It will be a pretty long time before the level is finished because I plan to make all the objects custom. The texturing on those objects are the only thing that is gonna be a pain. Anyway, heres a pic of it... the object took me about... 10 min. I strongly suggest everyone starts getting into making there own objects. Im gonna shutup now because im taking up a lot of space. Later. Check out my site http://trnextgeneration.tripod.com ------------------ Check Out My Site http://trnexgeneration.tripod.com IP: Logged |

That's really good for a first try! It looks like it took up a lot of polygons. What CAD program are you using? There should be a way to make the whole table top one polygon.[This message has been edited by Raider of Tombs (edited 09-28-2001).] IP: Logged |

i use meta and i make ok objects (with less polygons )... it isnt hard when u get the hang of it, but rhino is good but I think meta is better, that is only my opinion though ! that is a very good table... does the collsion work?------------------ Colin<>Trlestuff Levels.Wads.Tools.Sites.Stuff IP: Logged |

congrats on your first object! I'll give you a hand on the exesive polygon isue. there are several ways to build objects in cad programs. the most eficiant way I know of is to draw each surfice as a 3D face ( I.e. each surfice could be 1 polygon. now unfortunitly I don't have rhino or auto cad in front of me as i'm working on my friend's mac, but in rhino I think you will find 3D faces under 3D primitives. (important note) , and I know this to be true in rhino and auto cad, when drawring a 3D face allways draw counter clockwise, this will insure that the face is pointing at you. if you draw a face clockwise it will point away form you and will be invisible in game. hope this helps you out. P.s. don't count out rhino it's truly one of the best modeling progs, though not the best for rendering, it will get the job done for your objects.
