I have a question regarding importing objects into wads from other TRwads. For example if i use TRWAD to open a TR2 wad and save the wad, when i load this wad into the editor, the objects have the wrong name.I've noticed that the tiger from The Wall , although visible as the tiger is named as being Von Croy. Is this because the tiger occupies the same object slot as Von Croy or something like that?. This isn't a problem for me if i want to use the tiger because i havn't got Von Croy in my level ,but will it behave like a tiger in the level? Is there a way of getting these objects into a wad with the correct name or is it not possible. IP: Logged |

Also i forgot......If i've got an object ,lets say 'furniture _4' ,and i've got another object which is different ,but also called 'furniture_4', can i somehow put them in the same wad, or do i have to choose between one or the other.....thanx.[This message has been edited by skibsy (edited 10-02-2001).] IP: Logged |

I know you can use TRWest to place an object into a different slot. So you could move the second furniture_4 into the furniture_5 slot.IP: Logged |

Objects can be replaced and exchanged anyway you like with TRWest. Static objects like furniture, rock, architeture, usually do not have problems. Just put them in the correct slots. Animating things, traps and baddies from other games will depend on the data in themselves, and also on compatibility with the TR4 engine, so they´ll usually need some tweaking to work correctly. Baddies from other games usually don´t work correctly until you put some effort on editing their AI and animations.IP: Logged |
