Greetings.

Three new Tomb Raider custom levels have been posted to the server. These include:

- Jade Empress by trdan69
- Lara's New Mansion also by trdan69
- The City Of Wonders by Ben Best.

All are available from sections 341 - 360 and come packed with FlyDrive 1.5b

Enjoy!

May I just butt in to say that I think this Fly-Drive installation is a really quite annoying thing indeed?

It doesn’t give you a chance to check which files will be overwritten, and neither can you have a look at the readme first.

Therefore, I rather abstain from playing levels which must be installed that way.

Mulf. The whole point of FlyDrive is to simplify the installation process, which for the majority of users this has done. All files which are replaced during installation are automatically restored when FlyDrive is uninstalled, bringing the previous TRLE state back in its entirety.

Readme files accompany each archive.

This I was not unknown to me, fair lady; but I may I be allowed to voice my doubts as to whether this witty programme actually will restore my modified script, wad, and audio files, load.bmp, uklogo.pak &c. once it has overwritten them?

On a less abstract level, take “Recon Labs” by Emoo. The download contains an inperspicable setup.exe; a readme—indeed—which contains nothing but the standard disclaimer (“This level was not made and is not supported” yada yada yada); and another .txt file named ‘authors_notes’ the in Polish language. Useful though the latter may be to our Eastern neighbours, I must admit that my own knowledge of Polish is severely limited.

I hope you have now an inkling of the dilemma I see myself confronted with.

Mulf. indeed I see the point you are raising. We have gone to extreme lengths to ensure our application FULLY restores the TRLE state that existed before the installation. Why don't you try it and see, then at the very least you can counter with something based on fact rather than speculation.

Jaws-Victim. Laras New Mansion was submitted to us ealier today. Perhaps you would be wise to contact the level author (details included in the authors_notes.txt file) if indeed the game is a rip. We certainly will be.

Right. I have an English bk 1, bk 2, bk 3, and so on. Whats that for?? When I load the game, I see a Laras new mansion in the new game, but when I choose it and load it, I get the dinosaur level and it says 'Laras new Mansion' when I load it, But I still get the dinosaur game.......I can't even find the authors text thingy!

Jaws-Victim,

Firstly, I have not released a 'Dinosaur' level to the TRLE community.

Secondly, ease off on MissLara2U, it sounds like you need to sit down and look at the TRLE Manual & READ MEs that come with both your Tomb Raider CD and any custom levels you download.

Good luck in getting things to work - if you get stuck, ask nicely and someone here will help.

WBM

I believe that Jaws-Victim is mistaken Wee Bald Man for Bullet Ridden Monkey (WMB..BRM..close ) as brm has released a "dinosaur" level called Dino Jungle

No. I wasn't blaming Ms. Lara. It's not her fault. I've been waiting for a Lara's Mansion for so long. Sorry guys.

simply add some question during installation about overwriting or not existing files (telling which of them will be restored after uninstalling).

anyhow, that worked to me every time, even with recon labs (installation and uninstallation).

But I use even backup folders for everything I do, if something goes wrong.
