Is there a way to change the lighting on objects?

I ask 'cos i've noticed some objects you import into a wad are lit a certain way and therefore don't suit your level unless you relight the level accordingly .

I know it can't be done in the editor ,but are there any tools out there to do this?

There are a few ways to do it.

First try to adjust the Object Tint values in the Editor.

If it doesn´t work, you can import it into StrPix, export the image file to Photoshop or other image editing software, play with contrast - brightness - color balance - etc, then load it again in StrPix and then to the Editor.

not a smart way: try instead to enable ON/OFF for the lights, if they are OFF they do not affects on objects, but only on engine textures.

(on/off button is below light features, maybe you pressed off one time for mistake and it is still in that way)

a quote from page 30 of the manual:

----------------
Lighting Objects

An Object has its own light settings and is only partially affected by local
light sources. Sometimes it is necessary to adjust these settings in order
to create the illusion that an object is being affected by the local light.
On the OBJECT PANEL find the RGB settings with the words “Object
Tint” above. Click the RGB values to adjust – they jump by 8 with each
click. If you have used a strongly colored light or your room is quite dark,
you might want to match the object’s settings with those of the light. (If
the room is dark and you don’t adjust the object’s lighting, your object
will look like it is glowing in the dark.)

Man....i need to read the manual properly.

What you guys say works.

I had some objects in my level glowing like they were illuminous or something.I didn't know it was so simple to change the tint on the objects.

Thanx for putting me in the right direction.
