I wish to know step by step, how I can add an object into a wad. I wish to use this object as a pickup (a quest item in fact). Is this possible?------------------ Technology is the knack of so arranging the world that we do not experience it. IP: Logged |

Indeed it is. But first you need TRwest. Then open it. Click file then open wad for editing and find your wad you want to add an object to. The click file again and select load reference file and find the wad that has your object. Now on the left side is the reference, expand it and find the object, highlight it then click add right in the middle column. Now save the wad.Ok now for pickup triggers, place your object and then set it's OCB to 64. Then place the trigger on the square underneath the object, but set it to pickup instead of trigger. If you put the trigger for a door on the same square the door won't open till the object is picked up. ------------------ Top 5 Favorite sayings:

Hi Data, open the wad with the item you want in the editor and look at the slot name like quest item or pickup item 2. Close the editor and load trwest. Load the wad you want to add the item. Then load the wad with the item you want to add to your new wad. Save the wad with another name or the name you use. Trwest will warn you wen you want to overwrite an original wad name. If you save with another name dont forget to add .was extention or trwest will crash. Open the editor and load your new wad with the item you added.IP: Logged |

Hmm, The information that I gave you appears to be incomplete. I am sorry, I did not inform you that the object was an external one, in .dxf format. Would this still be possible?

Well in that case you need Srtpix3 rev3.5. Find an object you won't be using like the quest items. then select import dfx file. the new model will take the old ones place. All you need to do is texture and save your wad.IP: Logged |
