sorry to keep bugging people, but the cries for help seem thin on the ground. I am working on 4 parts of a continuing story, it damn hard work, i can create the levels, textures, wads, but when i try to select triggers i get an illegal operation, evertime, it doesnt happen on my friends machine. So maybe it is mine. but i cannot trace the problem, i have all the nesscesary drivers on my machine and the editor works fine, bar triggers, always the second box when the list comes up on screen and when i select find objects, when the list comes upon screen, does this require major hd access or extra memory read from ram memory, cos i am fed up with it, when i install the editor it works fine but then starts to illegally operate, everytime the window opens with the list of objects, does this sound to anyone like a problem that could be attributed to some pathway problem, i have tested all my pc componants, i would say the cd is defective but the error starts after a while not straight away, any ideas please respond, for now i have to use a friends pc to place objects and i am buying a new pc which had better work, fed up with the ammount of time wasted if i cannot resolve the problem, maybe if someone were to make a patch, no for me personaly but for all those who might have similar probs. I have win98, my friend has win se, but i tried it and it did the same thing, with the original wads aswell.

I had that problem once, but only when I tried to select a room. The problem was too many rooms, and the list got too big.
Since it happens with the original wads, I assume the problem is not a custom wad. So the only suggestion I can make is more memory. Windows uses alot, especially 98. And if your video card doesn't have enough memory, or you have AGP card, it will use more system memory.
If you have alot of things loading when you boot, close some. Like I have Winamp, ZoneAlarm, SB Live panel, things like that loading. If you have stuff in your system tray, close them first and try again.
