Nearly every level that I'm making at this moment uses a still horizon from TR3. But there is a small problem with them, the top of them looks really good but in the bottom half it turns into a flat really bold colour! It's nota big problem but looks really unsightly! How can you make it a black colour so it looks like the horizon fades away proprely? (Like the horizons out of TR4?)

I've had to deal with TRIII Horizons for some time now and there are a few ways to solve your problem.

#1 Use Strpix3 and color in the bottom half of the Horizon Black.
#2 Use TRwest to place a TRLR Horizon with your TRIII Horizon in the Same WAD.
Then Load Strpix3 and use the textures from the TRIII one and place them on the TRLR one.
After this delete the original TRIII one, You should now have a TRLR Horizon textured like a TRIII one!
#3 Use Strpix3 to export the horizon as a DXF and load it in a Cad Program like Rhino, Then delete the bottom half of the Horizon.
After doing this save the edited Horizon and load it back in the WAD using Strpix3 again. Now you have a Half and Half Horizon!

I recommend #1 as it's the fastest way to do it.. However #2 gives the best result depending on what look your going for.
And if all else fails you can Mail me and we'll talk any problems you have over. ^_~

*thinking*

has anyone tried making 3d horizon? as sage says, #3 is possible, then why not 3d terrain horizon, as long as it doesn't have a high poly count?! that'd be cool i think. but it would be a headache to texture :P

Hehe.. This is something i've been asked too often.
To get two horizions in one WAD use the Replace button in TRwest to place the second Horizion in any empty slot.
Simple Right? Good Luck!

OK Sage, I've tried your second method but if I use your first (which is the one I want to use) where is the bottom half of the horizon when you open it with strpix? Because I can only see the top half of it. (The bottom half is a strong bold colour)
