Possibly Off Topic but please leave this here as it is offered in the right spirit.

Mods - If you want to close by akll means do so - but please don't delete it - I just want to offer help.

Sophos Anti-Virus ( www.Sophos.co.uk ) offer a FREE 30 Day trial of their product

It does clean-ups automatically.

Grisoft offer a Free AV suite (AVG) at http://www.grisoft.com/

Zonealarm Firewall (blocks hackers etc.) is available for FREE at www.zonealarm.com

If anyone needs help on virus clean up / security in general please email me or MSN chat tswippet@hotmail.com

I do this PROFESSIONALLY - It's part of my job!

If you've been hit by the Win32 Annoying worm you might like to look at:
http://www.symantec.com/avcenter/venc/data/w32.annoying.worm.html for information and manual removal instructions.

My experience with Norton AV was bad - but that was in the early days - I haven't personally used it since.

I also know several people who've had problems, but I suspect that is more a useage / update issue.

Any AV package is only good if it's kept up to date!

I have tried Sophos, have SERIOUSLY BIG clients [ important not 8ft tall ]who swear by it, all my family have tried it and so have many friends - I'm not plugging it though - I don't get any commission

It's just a personal preference.

Grisoft's AVG is good (And FREEEEEE), and the authors approach / attitude is V Good.

CA InoculateIT Personal Edition is V good and free - but they have dicontinued the availability of the installation / setup program to promote their new product.

ZoneAlarm gets consistently good reviews and is dead easy to set up

I can give URL's to the D/L pages to anyone interested, and will chat on MSN or elsewhere to assist in setup
