Try to search the manual for explanations around 'toggle opacity' that should help you further...------------------ HAPPY RAIDING! Michael. IP: Logged |

firstly i wanted to create hanging type vines that create the illusion of dense foilage, secondly i looked at the manual that is why i am asking the question, my friends and i could not get it going for us, third i will look at the cobweb thing, i really wanted to create some passageway entrances leading to a secret i wanted to obscure these by some vines hanging down over the entrance, lara goes through these vines instead of banging into them.IP: Logged |

That's exactly the effect you get with cobwebsIf you think of how a 'water room' is done, the opacity2 setting allows lara to pass through but still lets you apply textures to the 'door' in the editor. The transparent bit (with the appropriate textures) allows you to see through it The double sided bit ensures that the cobweb / vine / whatever is visbible from both sides, otherwise they'd disappear if you looked back out of the tunnel. Once you've successfully done a cobweb, it's just a matter of changing textures. If you get really stuck email me at hotmail addy below - I'll do a little demo room and put on my webspace for you to 'crib' from ------------------ Conan the Barbarian email: conanthebarbarian@ntlworld.com a.k.a. i can do cobwebs windows etc, i am talking about no colision, i want to put lots of vines hanging down in a forest jungly type place, i cannot do this with doors as it would take alot of doors and rooms, maybe the editor wont allow grass that sticks up out of the ground that lara will not collide with, maybe i am not explaining this too well. The new version of STRPIX 3 has a collision editor which allows you to edit the collision on static meshes. What Conan says about transparancies is right ,but i suppose if you had some vines, maybe there are some in a wad somewhere, you could edit the collision so Lara would walk through them. I tried an experiment with a piece of funiture from a wad , i removed the collision which allowed Lara to walk through it, so it can be done if you had some vines. You can get STRPIX 3 by Turbo Pascal here: http://www.geocities.com/cyber_delphi/ Hope this helps IP: Logged |

If I understand right, you want to use no collision so Lara can walk thru things. No collision doesn't work that way, sorry. It only works on triangles in a floor/ceiling door.
