We appear to have enough members now, and they are (in order of posting):

The rules are simple: I will start the first room and then pass the project on to the next person on the list (in this case it is WBM). When he has created his room he will pass it on to the next on the list and so on.

When you have completed your room, pass the project onto the next person on the list.
When you receive the project, please acknowledge that you have it and are creating the next room. If however you wish to pull out, please let the previous person know so that they can then send it on to the next person. If you do not receive acknowledgement within a couple of days, let me know and then pass it on to the next on the list.
The last person on the list will send the completed rooms back to me, we shall then discuss texturing and objects etc.

Do not worry if your room looks 'crap'(to use general TRLE vernacular), I will check all rooms when completed.

---------------------------------
Remember:
To keep this as simple as possible, each person will create a room (stacking is allowed up to three rooms)

Each room will be connected to the next room via a one tile 4 click room.

All 26 rooms will be completed one by one by each member in turn (see list) and then sent on via email to the next member. When the last member has completed a room, then the whole project will return to me, at which time we will then work out how the texturing will be done.

Please understand that in order for this project to work, it must be kept simple. So if you do not wish to follow the guidelines above, please say so and I will remove your name.

Also, I do not wish to be a thorn in anyone's side, but I must have missed the afore-mentioned post. If it is not too much trouble, please add me to the end of the list. If it is too late, I understand, and I am sorry that I did not see this earlier.

Thank you,
-Raider

You know what would be a good idea?
If we named the rooms after ourselves!
Like.. Data's Room, WBM's Room, Etc etc..
That way we can look back at the PRJ and know who made what room! ^_^

Ok everybody, We have 26 members. I am sorry but that is now the limit and I cannot add any more.

Remember, this is for fun, each room will be totally individual in its design. You do not have to follow anyone elses design.

Mr Sage, I will take your idea into consideration. We will discuss this in more detail with the textures once the initial rooms have been created.

I will now start the first room. Please be patient as some members have more important things to do, your turn will come.

Please Note: NO WADS OR TEXTURES WILL BE REQUIRED AT THE ROOM CREATION STAGE, HOWEVER, EACH PERSON WILL BE ABLE TO TEXTURE HIS/HER OWN ROOM WHEN THE TIME COMES.

Okay, a couple of questions:

1) How are we to know where to connect the next room to the previous room?

2) If we find that we are next to more than one room, could we then connect to each room if it'll work?

Also, I noticed an error in Mr Data's first message. At the top you say 26 members and then towards the bottom you say "All 20 levels will be completed...". Should be 26, I think.

Hi Data,

I liked your idea of using the 'Tut1' WAD because the gameplay in my design process is always woven into the architecture i.e. I need to know what traps etc are available before the room can take shape.

Let me know what you think,

WBM

Q) 1) How are we to know where to connect the next room to the previous room?

A) Each person will add a one tile 4 click room to their own room and the next person will add their room to this.
---------------------------------------------
Q) 2) If we find that we are next to more than one room, could we then connect to each room if it'll work?

A) This would only confuse things so it would be better to keep things simple for this to work.
---------------------------------------------
Q) Also, I noticed an error in Mr Data's first message. At the top you say 26 members and then towards the bottom you say "All 20 levels will be completed...". Should be 26, I think.

A) Sorry, I had to change it so many times that the error slipped in.
---------------------------------------------
Q) May we create two rooms as well.
Because i'm having an idea.

A) Initially we should just stick to one room that is up to 10X10 tiles and no more than 3 stacked rooms in all.
---------------------------------------------
Q) I liked your idea of using the 'Tut1' WAD because the gameplay in my design process is always woven into the architecture i.e. I need to know what traps etc are available before the room can take shape.

A) Yes, I believe that the TUT1.WAD will be the best for this project.
---------------------------------------------

If you need to test your room, Save it first without any objects or textures and then add any textures and the tut1.wad and save it as a test PRJ and then texture and add objects, and then output the wad to test it. If there are any problems you can then load the original back in to change the errors, then test it again using the same procedure. This way when the time comes to send the PRJ file to the next person, it will still not contain any textures/objects.

Wow - I am really excited that this is starting to roll - and while all the 'rules' and restrictions hinder the designers creativity a bit, I truly believe they will give us a fair chance to complete the project - would be nice to have it by Christmas, although I realise that is a pretty stretch target...let's go!

HAPPY RAIDING!
Michael.
