Hi, Turbo,

I have downloaded TRE3D ,but when i try to run it i get the following erroe messages:

cannot open fileC:/TRE3D20R/SOLID.BMP

cannot open fileC:/TRE3D20R/README.TXT

ACCESS VIOLATION AT ADRESS 00479ICD IN MODULE'TRE3D.EXE'.
READ OF ADRESS FFFFFFFF

The editor then opens but when i put the mouse cursor over the editor window, the access violation message above just keeps coming up and i'm not able to do anything.

I have a Voodoo 3 2000 pci graphics card...do you think this is the problem?
It says in your readme about compatability issues with voodoo cards, does that mean the editor can't be used with this card or is there a way round it?

Thanx for any suggestions.

Be sure the fallow files are in you folder:

-TRe3d.exe
-solid.bmp
-readme.txt

that's all.

>I have a Voodoo 3 2000 pci graphics >card...do you think this is the problem?

Go to the menu -File-Config- and choose "24 bit" then restart the editor.

good luck.

I've created a wonderfull level with your editor and used joby2 as base.
I wish to have items too but I don't know excactly how to do that.
yes I watched in the readme file and the Intro file.
But what do I have to do?
How do you let the snow coming in to your room.

Turbo,

The solid.bmp and readme.txt were in a different folder to the TRED3D.EXE.

I moved them into the same folder and it now works.
I havn't done anything with it yet but it looks interesting.

Thanx for your help

Realy? can i see a screeshoot somewhere?

I guess you mean joby2.trc,

Download this TR5 room viewer:
http://home.earthlink.net/~asasoft/opensite.htm

This program will let you open all TRC files and will show you the objects availibles.
take note the object ID that you want to include.

Then read a litle the intro.txt included in the script folder and write (using notepad) a tiny text file including some put_item and start_trigger commands.

Then inlcude your tiny txt file name in the -Scripting File- box at the "Build level" dialog window and then build the level.

for make snow:

Select the room where you want to put snow,
press -properties-, check the "Outdoor" box.

when you are in the build level dialog box (press F10) select -snowing- at the "TR5 weather" control.

*************************************

I suggest not to do bigger levels in your learning phase, make just tiny 2-3 rooms levels and learn how to conect, texturize, lights and populate your levels bofere start building complex biger levels.

keep a eye at the treditor3d forum at:
http://pub19.ezboard.com/ftreditingzonefrm2

don't need to be a member for post something.

good luck.
