ok heres my question cos the people i have asked so far dont seem to know.Question: if you have a saved game from a level that you have played..for all practical purposes lets say its recon labs. ok..now lets say you want to take a break from it and you want to start playing another level. ok so you play the level and now you want to go back to your saved game and start on the recon labs where you left off. if i saved my script and english files and all the files associated with recon labs could i import them back into the correct folders and start off to where i was or will i lose my saved games~~(or will it work at all???) if you understand then i will respond to a response and try to be more clear but this question has been coming up in my head over and over again like bubbles in a case of club soda and i need to know or i will go crazy! thanks for all your inquiries! ------------------ What would you do for a Klondike Bar? YEP. This would work but you need to keep a copy of the relative saved game as well. Just pop the ones you want to save into the relative folders where you keep your custom levels.------------------ IP: Logged |

I have the original trle files in one place, and everytime I load a new custom level, I make a copy of the original an put the custom files in that copy. That way I can have many levels at the same time without having to worry about savegames, (or overwriting original files, since it is a copy anyway).

yes, you can, this is how you do it:make the savegame and count which one it is in the list say it's the first savegame, then go to C:\Program Files\Core Design\trle and look for a file called savegame.0 the savegames start at .0 and increment with 1 for every savegame so the second savegame in the list in the game will be savegame.1 and so on and so on now just copy that file to the place you keep the zipfile of the custom level and when you want to continue playing the level, all you have to do is copy that savegame back to the trle folder like Torry and G.Croft mentioned and install the level and your're off ------------------ Tomb Raider - Ancient Legends levels (2), walkthroughs, tutorials, wallpapers and other TR goodies on driber.cjb.net !!! new: all the TR1, TR1gold, TR2, TR2gold, TR3 and TRLA textures !!! visit the TRLE Chatbox for live online help with the LE IP: Logged |

It's not so hard.I had the same broblem at first, here it goes. You can preserve your save gave without moving it,just don't ovewrite it by the new level.Keep saving under it or above it.Rename the English and script .dat files to something like English.rl(rl stands for recon lambs). So when you put the new English and script are not going to be ovewritten.OH!IMPORTANT-The WADS from the new level must have other names. For example not cleopatra or coastal because...ovewrite.In some cases i was able to play two at the same time, not from the same author but i don't remember exactly how.IP: Logged |
