For Mac though. Does anyone know if you can download custom levels for the Mac, that were made with the PC level editor? And if you can't, does anyone know where I can find Mac-made custom levels? ------------------ You beat your pate, and fancy wit will come: Knock as you please, there's nobody at home. IP: Logged |

...apparently those levels that come as a TOM or TR4 file mostly work ok on a Mac, too. Those that come as an EXE file or with the FlyDrive Installer from trchronicles.com don't (unless you us a PC emulation to run the exe). Guess you should just try it out and see for yourself...------------------ HAPPY RAIDING! Michael. IP: Logged |

Hehehe, thank you data and moose!!!!. I may venture into reading the manual for Level Editor after the weekend. As soon as this ol' iMac is fixed, I will install the Chronicles disc.... and download a level! Any recommendations for my first one? IP: Logged |

Well Driber, I went to your site and spent 14 minutes downloading Level1. But it's an exe file and it won't work. Michael, I'm on your site right now. I think I'll go for the most recommended one. Hope it works. Actually, I went for the Algernon one. But I'm having some problems with TR3 just now. So I probably won't be able to play it until tomorrow. "it won't work" is a rather big concept, what exactly is the problem? try to be more specific and I may be able to help you out [This message has been edited by Driber_IF (edited 10-25-2001).] IP: Logged |

Well, look above, you'll see that I play on a Mac. Michael said that exe files don't work on Mac, they have to be TR4 or something. But, nevertheless, i dragged the exe file into the save folder of Level Editor, opened the game up, clicked load game, but there was nothing in there. I suppose I could be missing something major, but I presume that to play custom levels, the disk in the computer has to be the Level Editor disk rather than the Chronicles disk. Do correct me if I'm wrong though. Any thoughts? I tried downloading the Algernon level too, but it seemed to be the same, or as soon as I had downloaded it the Read Me file said I had to have downloaded the other levels for it to have worked and I just couldn't be bothered spending another 15 minute downloading yet another level I probably wouldn't be able to play. Do you know how I can tell in advance what kind of download it's going to be? I.e. either exe or tr4 file? Thanks. yes, sorry, my bad, I forgot about the fact that my levels come with an .exe installer if you can receive an e-mail of about 2,5 mb I can send the level to you in .zip format...you CAN open zipfiles on your mac, right?

The download opened itself as a zip and as an exe. Neither work, I don't think. I'm not really sure what plays yet and what doesn't. Does anyone else experienced with making and playing levels on a Mac here, perhaps they could point us in the right direction?I'm pretty sure that the zip file won't work either though, it was just blank when it appeared on screen. Thanks for the offer though. IP: Logged |

hi allyou can unzip most zip files using stuffit expander or stuffit deluxe on the mac.if you dont have it or need the latest version you can go to http://download.com many exe files that i have seen wiith tr toms are simply self extracting zip files. drag these right into the stuffit drop box and they should unzip just fine. if not try finding yourself a copy of virtual pc or softPC for the mac. hope that helps [This message has been edited by Guichi (edited 10-25-2001).] IP: Logged |
