Topic: Door with opening sound...........How do i enable it?

I used TR2WAD to extract a door from the TR2 house WAD,and used TRWEST to add the door to the Karnak WAD, replacing the original door 1, from that WAD, but when triggered the door doesn't make a sound, whereas the original door i replaced did have a sound to it. Is there a way to get the new door to make a sound when opening?I've looked in the sounds.txt file; is there something in here i've got to add, or should the door make a sound/not make a sound anyway?

You need to have a look at the manual (page 65) releting to pcwadsfx.Basically you need to rebuild the sounds.tx file then open your prj, wad and tga and save the .TOM and rebuild If I've remembered right - all should now be OK If you need to change the sound associated with the door you need to find the original sound number for the door slot you have replaced and replace that sound with an appropriate one.

I followed all the instructions and still it doesn't work. When i import a door from another TR4 wad into the Karnak door_1 slot ,the sound works,it just seems to be doors from other TR games that i can't enable the sound on.The reason i want this door by the way is 'cos the front and back of the doors on the older TR games are made with one texture panel which makes it really east to re-texture in strpix. I know i can cut a texture into 12 pieces with paint shop pro, but it's a right pain, and also it doesn't look as good as a single panel. IP: Logged |
