My first six levels are available all strung together in a zip file as a full game. Level 1 loads up level 2 etc etc...No problems. All these levels are TOM files. My new level (Return to The Trench)is a TR4 file using a customised version of the Tut1 wad. I used TRWest to add and remove objects etc and customised the Tut1 texture set too. All the files were renamed accordingly to distinguish them from the Tut1 files. On it`s own the level works fine. No problems. But when I try to load it from level 6 it fails to load and the thing crashes to the desktop usually with the Ddhelp error message. I normally associate this with load screen parameter problems so I have tried all sorts of load screens to no avail. Return to The Trench is a pretty big level and I exceeded the memory limit a couple of times while making it. I got similar load problems then. Could it be that it`s just too much to load this level from the previous one? Could this be exceeding some kind of memory limit? Pity if it is. Means level 6 will never load up level 7. ------------------ Will Gell IP: Logged |

It seems I had the same problem... My level was exceeding the memory capacities of the editor and every time I tried to load my level, it would crash back to desktop. I then had to split my large level into smaller ones... Now it works fine, except from the jump level problem I described in another post... I think you'll have to revise your level and cut some bits!!! I know it sounds bad but it's better than not publishing your levl! Good luck JBIP: Logged |

No the level works fine as a stand alone level. I resolved the problems with that and it is published already on it`s own. It`s just that it won`t load from another previous level. There`s no way I`m revising the level. If it means playing Return to The Trench separately it isn`t the end of the world. Just a pity.

This is a dumb question, but did you use the revised wads? I remember there was a problem in one of the original wads that you couldn't load another level after it.

Yeah I`m using the revised wads. It`s almost certainly a memory problem. I`ve figured a way to split the level without rebuilding anything so that will maybe work. Maybe.... Will

Hi, maybe the savegames get to big. In the LR there where no more then 4 levels connected to eachother. So i think that when you look at the original scriptfile you see resethub with a number the clears the savefile. I dont know, it's just a thought.IP: Logged |
