I'm getting a duplicate class ID error when I try to load the trplug.dlo for MAX. I'm using R3 - I've removed all third party plugins and trplug.dlo is the only one left so the conflict appears to be happening with an internal MAX plugin.

Also, if in future I do manage to resolve the conflict, which folder does trplug.dlo prefer to live in: "stdplugs" or "plugins"?

Finally, once it has loaded, is it a Utility, Object Modifier or Helper (which menu can it be found under)?

Thanks,

WBM

I find it under utility. What version do you have? The creator is a guy called AxeSlash so try asking him------------------

[Driber_If examines the signature, 'I didn't say that', etc...]

hmm... I can't decide, that sig or this one

Hmm... R3... thats what I have... I don't have any conflicts with it, and the guy who made it says it works fine on all machines with MAX R3 so... BTW It goes in the plugins folder.

Thanks Kiopo,

Re-installation of MAX it is then..

BTW - before I trash my current installation.. could you briefly describe what the plugin does? Crucially: does it make it possible to import / export to MAX a DXF from / to Strpix?

Thats what the author says yep, it basically adds 3dface entities to the DXFs so it can be used with strpix. I don't make objects though but ask someone who has used it to see exactly how it works.

Excellent news..

Could you email me any other text files or notes that came with the plugin? (I only have the trplug.dlo file itself). Or, if you don't have anything - do you remember where you originally got the file or AxeSlash's email / web-page?

Much obliged

I've identified the class ID error: trplug.dlo conflicts with MAX's internal sflectrs.dlo file (located in the "stdplugs" folder).

I've re-installed MAX and tested several other third party plugins and they worked with no problems. So I can only assume that the trplug.dlo does not actually work or that the copy I have is corrupt.

As Kiopo has suggested I would like to ask anyone who has used this plugin to please raise their hand..

..or, anyone who has created or modified an object using MAX.. and managed to get Strpix to accept it..

..please do not feed me to the Metasoq Rhino Autocad gang.. *sobbing gently* ..I don't wanna let go of my MAX.. *lower lip trembling* ..if there is a God of humane alternatives to 3D face entities, now is the time to show yourself.

Humbly,

WBM
