You know, like int the tr games when you open the game you see Eidos and Core logos and then an intro fmv. If possible how do I make it?------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: Web site just updated!!! IP: Logged |

That intro is the Title level. You can replace it with any level you want. I think it takes a series of flyby cameras.

No no aktrekker he is speaking of the FMV's before the Title Flyby. And I know it's possible.. I'd recomend taking a look at TRLR's Scripts and see if you can figure it out. Sorry if i'm not alot of help.------------------ IP: Logged |

No.The FMV's require special *.dll files, that the TRLE version of the engine isn't set up to use. Soz.However if you were really desperate to use them... you could try using a completly illegal CD-crack that I'd have no idea whatsoever where to find. IP: Logged |

It would be possible to launch an FMV before the game was launched - but not during it. The code for playing .bik files (Bink and Smacker codec) was stripped out presumably because Core didn't want to keep paying for the commercial license to use this codec. However, if you made an FMV, you could simply ask the player to launch your video file before they launched the game. Video files could be rendered using standard codecs such as AVI, MPEG, DivX - or even BIK if you convert it using the free RadTools. Good luck... ..another brave knight sets out on the quest for the TRLE holy grail.. never to be seen again.. WBM ? ..or maybe this one returns.. ? That's the program that I used to convert my avis's to bik's. I have now the original TR4 exe file, but I can't understand the script for the fmv's. In the script I found the following parameters: ;FMV= 1,0;CUT= something that I don't remember But as I said before, I don't know how to use them. ------------------ Keep visiting Tomb Raider Level Editing: Web site just updated!!! Unfortunately, Core has removed the codec code from the TR4 exe itself. This means that no matter what you do to the script or the LE, the actual calls to the .bik codec (which are normally stored in the TR4.exe file) will not be made because this code has been completely removed. In-game (engine driven) low-poly cutscenes and their triggering is a different matter and positive progress is being made on this front by a dedicated band of die-hards and individuals.. TRLE custom made levels launch from your hard drive, so the autorun.ini (found on the TR CDs) would only work if the TRLE was being launched from a CD.Rather than ask auto.ini to launch your FMV (which would require the impractical task of distributing or asking players to burn your level on a CD), it would simpler to write a small program which did this for you. All the program would have to do is: launch the FMV (AVI, MPEG or whatever format Windows Media Player can cope with), wait for the FMV to finish (a simple line of code which uses the system clock to calculate when to launch the FMV) then, launch the TRLE.. Unfortunately I am not a programmer so I cannot write even this very simple program.. Sigh.. WBM [This message has been edited by Wee Bald Man (edited 11-10-2001).] IP: Logged |
