Sorry to ask newbie questions but I keep having to reinstall TRLE because of crashes.
I have all 4 zip files from eidos, and the all installed and worked properly(except the textures readme didn't really say how to install them).
I really just want to download alot of levels for now so my sister and I can play while we learn how to use the editor.
What other files do I need? WAD's,TGA's, maps? I saw a couple levels that required TRWEST V2.0, when I finally found that it was a dead link(as are alot of links I have been looking for).
I know there are lots of files to get, but what are the most important or most used? I went to http://trlestuff.geckokid.com/tr3wads.html and downloaded the atlantis2.zip. I unzipped it and it ran a program. When finished it said to just convert 2 files to .tr4. They converted ok but when I tried to play them it crashed.
Just not sure if missing files, wads, scripts or whatever are the problem? Don't really care about how to fix or install that level specifically, just want to know how I should go about setting up. If I need to get a whole bunch of files before I get more levels thats fine. Just need some direction and maybe some links that are more current or that can help me with some common or just my newbie problems.
Thanks to tombs_on_the_brain, Author Topic: just a little help please

I just bought the game for the PC(had it on PSX) and mainly for the editor. I just need some direction and pointers if possible. I know there is a post to TRLE FAQ and Community and that will help alot. However I have a few questions.
First, I was able to download the revised_wads.zip and angkor_wat.zip files from the TRchronicles site, but the new_wads and texture zips download but are incomplete and can't be unzipped. Is there someplace else to get them?
Next, I downloaded a copuple of levels. A couple from Dhama which worked fine. Also one called Celtic Folly which I had trouble with. The dhama levels just had me copy my original .TOM files and replace them with the new ones. The Celtic file was more work, it had me replace the catacomb.tom file several times, convert and rename to cfolly1.tr4,cfolly2.tr4 and so on.
However the first file did not convert completely, the next 2 did. But when I went in the levels where not there and the original catacomb worked fine.
Do i have to always just replace the original .TOM files and just convert to .TR4, or can I rename after converting and then re-insert the original level?
The Celtic level also involved replacing the script and english .dat and .txt files also, so maybe that went wrong.
Any help would be great. I just need some direction on how to start and best ways of replacing or renaming files.

Thanks tombs_on_the_brain, aktrekker, and Driber_IF for help on my first post.

I suggest you download a fan created project file (it has all the necessary files) and stick to it until you make it work, by then you'd know enough to go for more.
TRLE is not difficult, but complicated. You need to go slow, one step at a time.
Wish you luck, and lots of fun
