got a problem reguardless of drivers or clocks. in preview mode when i'm close to looking at a wall or something, i get poor performance....i'll move the mouse and there's a delay and the image moves...slowly. and stuff on the outside of the preview box where white should be it turns to a light tan color. i've tried alot of different drivers. i've got the latest 4 in 1's...DX 8.1, etc. trust me i've got all of the latest drivers. my system specs are as follows:Abit KT7A T-bird 700@866 (tried default speeds) 128MB KINGMAX PC-150 256MB KINGMAX PC-133 (tried both seperately) 20.4GB MAXTOR HDD. 7200 RPM i've tried windows 2000 professional and windows ME....so it's not an os problem. this is related to this card. and i was j/w if anyone had this problem too. thanks in advance everoyne btw, fresh installation of both os's...i've always used a voodoo 3 until i got this badass overclocking gts pro (i always use default speeds until i bench) IP: Logged |

I have the same problem. ABIT KA7, Athlon 750, ATI AIW128, 256MB Ram. I think it's a problem in the software renderer in the LE.

I think the LE is completely software rendered. It doesn't use OpenGL, DirectX, or anything. That's why what you see isn't always the way it looks in the game. I never use preview mode anymore, I just build the level and play it.

Iīve never used Preview Mode, itīs only a weak explorable version of the 3D window. It does not show what actually occurs in game. So I just build the rooms and PLAY it for testing.IP: Logged |

well ya see...there's no way in **** software could render that..considering my old 8mb agp ati card struggles...a voodoo 3 struggled in some spots...and my radeon 64mb ddr vivo didn't struggle...this sucks. and from what i know it's OpenGL rendered.IP: Logged |

I was able to play the TR1-3 demos with pure software rendering, a PCI video card with 4MB ram, 128MB main ram, and a celeron overclocked to 450. Never a dropped frame, smooth operation.IP: Logged |

tr 1-3 don't require alot to render...as a matter of fact they don't require much at all compared to the rendering requirements of tr 4-5. trust me guys, it's not software...i DO know alot about this stuff...i just don't know why this card struggles. thx for the help anyways...i'll post if i get this figured out.

Just use draw doors, and you get a good feel for how it all fits together. You really don't need preview mode. I hate the keys in preview mode, I always got stuck in a corner and couldn't get out. As long as I don't get in a corner it works, so it could be the collision.IP: Logged |
