this must be cuz you didnt set the script right, or your using a temporary wad or something? anywayz, try replacing the original wads when you do this and then do it......must be something wrong cuz you wanted to save a little time by just making a temp wad?

Maybe its the load camera settings too, check them as well. If your script doesent point the editor somewhere while the load screen is loading then that happens

It has to be the load camera. To set it all you need to do is to press F1 anywhere you like the look of when you are playing your level. You will see a set of co-ordiantes in the top left hand side of the screen. Write them down somewhere and then enter them into the script file. You will see that each block of level info has them so simply take out the old ones for your level and replace them with your new ones. Hope this helps you.

If you used the catacomb wad without changing it, then the object names listed don't change.
To enter the load camera coordinates, go into script.txt and find the catacomb level. Under that should be LoadCamera=. There will probably be 2 lines like that. Change the second one to the coordinates you recorded from your level.

Also check the finish trigger you use to end the level. In the editor, select the trigger, then click the box next to the purple button, it should have the word "Finish" in it. In the popup window, make sure the word next to "Finish" is zero, as this takes you back to the title screen. Any other value tries to take you to a different level, and if the level isn't in the script file, you go back to the desktop.

I don't think it is the load camera as this happens to me sometimes as well. I am using the normal wads that come with the editor no changes or customisations at all.

It might be a bug - maybe with the wad output from the editor or in the level conversion or the project itself. I have no idea.

One minute my project will return to the desktop - I then make a few changes to the rooms and output wad and convert and next time it runs and you return to the flyby and menu. - no changes to script files at all

Just accept that this happens sometimes

if you do find a fix - let us know

thanks

John

As you make changes to your level, it probably opens up the area where the load camera points. If the load camera is outside any rooms, you go to the desktop. If you create a room where the load camera points, everything is fine.
