Hey dudes.
I've got a strange problem with my Titanic level that hopefully someone can help me with. Whenever I load the Coastal.WAD then place Lara and her start position in the level, then attempt to output the wad, the editor crashes. The strange thing is that it works with the City.WAD but no longer with the Coastal.WAD and as you can see from the screenshots below it's been lit specifically to match the sunset background of the Coastal.WAD sky.
FYI, there are no objects in the level yet, appart from Lara and her start position. Also, I've only used about 100 or so rooms so far and my last Titanic level (which I lost) had over 180 rooms, 196 texture blocks and lots of objects etc.

I can't figure this one out so any help from you guys would be awesome. Thanks for taking the time to read this.

Rascalius.

Ok, since it works with the city wad, the problem can only be in the Coastal wad. If you haven't already, download the revised wads from eidos. Included in the download is the revised fully functional coastal wad. This wad should function correctly. Keep the wads as a backup somewhere - I have a zip disk dedicated to TR wads. Then if ever the wads act up again (they corrupt easily) you can easily replace them.

By the way, those screenshots are absolutely incredible. They are really 1st class! What are all the invisible slopes there for, though? Is it so you can't jump from deck to deck? Anyway - excellent job - and I hope the wads cooperates with you.

Sage of Time, thanks for your encouraging words man, I really appreciate it.

Raider of Tombs' Clone, Gggggrrrreat advice dude, thank you very much. I think you nailed it when you said it had to be a WAD problem for the reasons you gave so I'll finish the level before I try to output it with the new Coastal.WAD from Eidos and fingers crossed. Thanks again for figuring that out for me.
As for the invisible slopes, they're actually there to save rooms as my last Titanic level just had tooooo darn many of them. This method of 'construction' makes the level easier to manage, especially when I have up to 12 rooms stacked on top of each other in places. But you're correct, it does stop people from taking unorthodox short cuts so I guess it has multiple advantages.
I'm glad you think it looks ok, and thank you very much for your great advice and kind appraisal.

Rascalius. <---feels so happy now

BTW - you don't need the Lara start position unless you are connecting multiple levels. She will start wherever you put her.

aktrekker, thanks for the usefull tip bro', I'm learning new things everyday here, all of which make level building that bit easier. Cheers!!

Ultimate.Reality, no I'm not an artist but I did go to art college as part of my audio visual design diploma and got my GCSE in art at high school. But, the fact is I just love creating textures and I've made several texture sets for levels I haven't even started yet. I'm hopeless with puzzles and the 'programing' side of level building so I put all my time and effort into the appearence.

Total thanks for your compliments dude. It's really awesome to know that you appreciate what I'm doing and thank you for taking the time to post a message and make me smile.

The road leading to your goal can be a long one and bumpy at some times.
But you might just pickup a few hitch hickers along the way that stay in
your car for the rest of your life.

Sithlord, this isn't the first time I've had problems with Coastal.WAD myself and you definitely have my sympathies dude. Thank you for your generous compliments and I'll try to make sure the finished level doesn't disappoint.

Driber_IF, you've gotta do something about that st-u-tt-er dude. Thanks very much for your kind words.
