I have just finished the torch puzzle and the doors to the Mirror Hall have closed and I cannot gain access to it.

Is this suppose to happen?

Yes, this is normal, check the readme for this why this happens. Light the 3 pedestals underneath the library. A block will lower in the wall. When you pish the button all doors will open again.
