How do you link two or more levels together in the editor?

I have built a level and have decided to extend it into two ,or possibly three levels.
I assume i have to start the second level as a new project and get the second one to load when the first one finishes.

Also, is it possible to somehow remove a section of my current level ,save it somewhere and import it into a new project?

I want to do this so i can crop part of my level and put it in as the beginning of my second without having to rebuild those rooms.

I could leave it as it is and start the second one, but i have a place in my current level that i want to use as the cut off point to the second.

the best thing you can do is: make a copy of your project and rename it for the second level
then delete all the rooms you don't need from the first level (thus "cropping" your second level)

and for linking the 2 levels: just place the number of the level you want to load once level 1 is completed in the timer field of the level 1 finish trigger

voila!

allright zip it!

The road leading to your goal can be a long one and bumpy at some times.
But you might just pickup a few hitch hickers along the way that stay in
your car for the rest of your life.

OK,Thanx Driber.

I've deleted the rooms i don't need in the second level and saved as a new project.
The problem now is with the finish trigger.

I'm using a modified Karnak Wad in the first level and i copied and renamed all the Karnak files to Karnak2 for my second level Wad.

Where exactly in the script should i make an entry for the second level?

When i get to the end of my first level it loads up Tomb Of Seth.

I can load both my first and second level from the load game screen no problem, i just can't seem to be able to link between them.
How do i know what number my second level is....it shows up as the 4th one down on the levels displayed at the load screen....i've tried 4, and 2 and 3...still it loads seth....i seem to be barking up the wrong tree somewhere.

What is the proper procedure for editing the script when adding new levels, rather than renaming existing ones?

Also is it best to use a unique name for a custom Wad rather than use an existing name?
I ask because although my wads are custom ones they have the name of original wads ,meaning anyone downloading my level will have to backup the wads i'm using then overwrite with mine.

If i use custom names they will not have to overwrite anything apart from the script and just delete my files if they want when finished.

Does anyone reccommend this as a better method or is it best to stick to the regular wad names?

I managed to get my second level to load by deleting all the levels that came with the editor from the script.txt, so the only ones in it now are my two.

My next problem is how do i get a statistics screen to appear between each level , or can't i do this as this didn't occur in TR4.

If i can't do this between each level can i gat the statistics screen to appear at the end ......say after 3 levels have ended?

Hallo! Sorry, the statistics screen is not possible - at least I think not. Nothing can be modified in the script to get this to happen unless there are commands not listed in the tutorial. Overall, it is unlikely that the Statistics screen at the end of each level is possible.

Sorry.
