Anyone know the OCB settings for the spikey floor from Tomb of Semerkhet? I don't mean the spikes trap, I know that has all the settings in the manual. IP: Logged |

OK thanks for replying but the tutorial given by Wee Bald Man in the FAQ refers to the normal "spikes" object and I know that is all set out in the manual. I meant the "spikey floor" object which is found in Tomb of Semerkhet (and it's in at least one other wad but I can't remember which). I tried the OCB settings for spike with the spikey floor but they don't work. Come on all you brainy whizz kids, one of you must know!! Please?

Isn't it in the settomb project so you can look at it?

No, Settomb doesn't have spikey floor - it has spikes. Guard does have spikey floor but it's not in the PRJ map. IP: Logged |

Spike floor is the big long set on spikes, not the single ones I belive. Normally they dont hurt lara or nothing I think....Ya need the OCB to do it. Am I right?IP: Logged |

try putting it in the middle of two rooms, and trigger it with dummy trigger in the room below. Anyhow, as I am finishing my levels, I am going to use it maybe tomorrow or in two or three days, so I could let you know if I got it to work.IP: Logged |

Thank you all for replying - spikey floor is a square of 3x3 spikes - if that makes sense. If you have the Guard wad check in that - it's just under Trapdoor1. I thought there was some program knocking around that shows up OCB settings - I know someone on the forum came up with the setting for the statue puzzle in Poseidon (-423) - it would take a lot of guessing to hit on that number without some sort of "viewing" program!

I checked out the guard project. I found trapdoor1, but there is not a spike floor in the project.

AKTrekker - did you check in the drop down list for the objects in the Level Editor? It's definitely in there although not in the project map so you can't search for it. But it definitely exists - honest! If only I could paste in a picture but I don't know how (although I think you need a web site to do that - is that right?)IP: Logged |

Yes, I found it in the WAD. But if it isn't in the project, you can't get the OCB settings. So what level is the spike floor actually in?

Conan - thanks for offering to help - I am trying to send a screen shot but at the moment my PC is playing up - hopefully I'll get it to work.AKTrekker - the spikey floor is not in any level or project map, it's just in the Guard and Tomb of Semerkhet wads. I am trying to use it in a level but I can't get it to work no matter how much I trigger it - it just does not show up in the game. It must need a code or setting in the OCB to get it to work, like the spikes in the other wads.

Sorry I am bumping this to the top again, the reason being I have found the topic posted re the Poseidon statue OCB code, it was answered by Piega (is he still around?). Piega said there is a program on Michiel's site which can show the OCB codes for objects. I have found this program, it is FloorEdit 2, downloaded it but, me being extra thick, I can't use it (it keeps saying "Run time error 48 - file not found dlib"). Does anyone have FloorEdit 2 and could use it to find the OCB code for spikey floor? I promise I will go away and leave you all in peace if you do!!IP: Logged |

spikey Floor is this one, right? But I have no OCB settings for it, and it is not in any of core design's maps. TomoIP: Logged |

Yes Tomoko that is indeed spikey floor!! Thank you for that (see it does exist!) No, it doesn't seem to be in any of the project maps supplied by Core for the Level Editor but I would have thought it was in the original game itself (although I have to say I can't remember exactly where). But the Poseidon statue was not in any of the maps supplied by Core and Piega managed to find the OCB setting for that - PLEASE can someone try FloorEdit 2 and find the spikey floor code?! The Poseidon statue appeared in a level, so we could get the OCB settings. Unless we know which level it was in, we would have to try every original level. Download TR2Prj and convert all the original levels yourself. Then you can search each one for the spikey floor and get the settings yourself.

Thanks Aktrekker for your reply but I would imagine I'd need the PC version of TR4 to do that, trouble is I don't have it. I only have the Playstation version and for some reason I can't seem to buy the PC one anywhere (I have tried). Oh well, I think I'll have to give up on this one for the time being anyway. Thanks to everyone for trying to help.IP: Logged |

Hi, i did not read this post before. As for the floorspikes. I can almost dream The Last Revelation and i am pretty sure that this object is never used in this game. Maybe it is left out for some reasen. Anyway, why not use the normal spikes. If you could use this spikefloor would it have not the same effect? With using flooredit i discouvered the OCB of the statue of Poseidon. This OCB is -423. The runtime error comes up because you are missing it. If you download the full version of wadmerger and install it these files will be installed and then flooredit will load fine. I think you can download runtime seperatly aswell. Take a look...IP: Logged |

There was that spikey ceiling that falls on you. I wonder if this was a floor version that they didn't use? Maybe it has the same OCB as the spikey ceiling?

Perhaps it's some kind of fiendish raising floor that comes up while you're monkey swinging...------------------ IP: Logged |

Maybe it wasn't in the original maps because Core couldn't get it to work either!! But if it was in the game I would imagine it was either in the Guardian of Semerkhet or Tomb of Semerkhet levels as those are the wads I found it in. I will try to download the runtime files separately for Flooredit if I can find them although as I say at the moment I don't have TR4 PC version to use it on. Anyway, thanks again to everyone.
