I tried to replace 111.wav with a wav file of my own (considerably larger..41 MB) but results were less than favorable. Does anyone know how it's done? Whatever started playing kept skipping, but it was not the new wav I made....IP: Logged |

Hi jer_atch,Make sure you save your new WAV file in ADPCM format (not PCM format). This can be done using the Sound Recorder built into windows or WinAmp using the Nullsoft Disk Writer Output Plugin. TRLE won't recognise and play new sound files unless they have the following: Format: Microsoft ADPCM Attributes: 44,100 Hz, 4 Bit, Stereo 43 KB/s If you want sounds to loop automatically you have to make changes to the Script file. For example: Level= DATA\LEVEL4,107 "107" = the number of the soundtrack you want to loop in the background of your level. "Level4" is the name of your level e.g. "Tut1". There is more information regarding sound files in the manual and in this forum. Check the TRLE FAQ too. Hope this helps. WBM IP: Logged |

hi wee bald man do you know why some sounds (e.g. 97.wav) are looped auomatically after triggering? Iīd like to use 97.wav as a sound for a dangerous situation, but it loops automatically. I donīt want that do you know, if itīs in the sounds.txt file or in the exe file? cu daniel (wow I recognize the time in the USA now..in Germany, itīs now 6.00 PM ) --------------------------- Please donīt care about any mistakes I do Iīm only a German pupil [This message has been edited by [Daniel] (edited 12-14-2001).] IP: Logged |

Hi [Daniel],As Driber says, the sound files which loop are hard-coded. I quote Mirai's reply to a similar question: "Some sound numbers are programmed to loop others are NOT. You have to find the ones that do. The trigger number does nothing. But loopers are in the top numbers, around the 95-115 area. Nothing else will loop. And it you want some music or sound FX to play more than once you have to use the 1,2,3,4,5 bits." So, if 097 is looping in your situation you'll have to use a different track number. Hope this makes things clearer. WBM IP: Logged |

Hi wee bald man, thx for your answer...well, itīs a little bit difficult for me to understand all the things you said, but I think, I understood it right I thought so,too. Well, I think, the only solution for that is to change the track number by renaming the file as mentioned before. cu daniel[This message has been edited by [Daniel] (edited 12-15-2001).] IP: Logged |
