I have an idea for a level and I need a tube object for architectual porposes.
Lara won't have to walk in the area, so collision or no collision is not a problem.
The inside of the tube needs to be textured.

If there are any good objects makers out there...here's a scetch of what I seek for an object:

That would be very simple to construct using Bryce and then exporting as a DXF file. Please tell me the dimensions that you require, and I will attempt to make it.

How smooth do you want the circle? Also, do you want it to be wafer-thin?

well, I want the circle as smooth as possible, but I'm not sure how much data (no pun intented) this will take up for the object
it doesn't matter if the circle is wafer this or not, because it will only be viewed from the inside and Lara doesn't have to walk in the area

unfortunatly, Data was not able to export the object in Bryce and after some pointers she gave me about StripX, I tried it myself and was also unable to export a torus which I created in Bryce
when I go to file, the Export function is greyed out

is there anyone who has some experience with Bryce 3D?

Any basic CAD program should have this shape as a simple geometric object. Meta, Rhino, or any of the other programs in use here should be able to do this with very little work.

In bryce 3D, if you wish to export an object, select it, and look to see if it has an 'E' in the options that are fixed to the side of the object. If it's there, you can export, if it is'nt then you can't export it.
If it is there, click on it and a little window will open, then press the 'CTRL' key and a save window will open; just export from there.
Note: Not all objects will export, I think they have to contain so many polygons, and such that low polygon objects will not export.
I hope this helps.

Dhama, when I click on the "e" I indeed get a window whith the title "Edit torus", but when I press on CTRL nothing seems to be happening

I take it you have Bryce 3D, can I send you this project, so that you can have a look?

here's a screenshot of the window I get:

unfortunatly not
it turns out that Bryce can't export objects that are made with Bryce itself, only preset meshes with a high vertices count and objects you import as .dfx

robbase is now attemping to make the tube, I will update this thread once there is any news
