Hi! I am making a new series called TOMB RAIDER: Idol of Chiholtopec. I am about a quarter done with the first level, Temple of the Idol, and I want to release it as a demo in .tr4 format to anyone who wants to try it out. Treeble or anyone else who has played a previouse demo, this one is majorly updated, with lots more traps and an actual ending. This is of course, not the real ending . Anyone who wants to try it? If you do try it, please e-mail me and tell me what you liked about it and what I need to improve upon .Incase you haven't noticved, my sig has updated to! ------------------ TOMB RAIDER: THE CHIHOLTOPEC IDOL The year is 1997, and Lara is off on another adventure! This time, she is going deep into the jungles and foothills of Central America. Finding a cave entrence, she eagerly steps into the gloom. But the ground beneath her breaks apart, and she is sent tumbling down into the mountain side... Unknown to her, she has stumbled upon the shrine of Chiholtopec, an ancient Maya god of seeing and fire. The reclaiming of his idol from the buried temple will allow it's bearer to rule the gift of unhindered sight. That is, if they can't pass the three tests of this god... I intend TOMB RAIDER: CHIHOLTOPEC IDOL to be a three level series, with the first level "Temple of the Idol" out sometime near February. Thanx Lara Croft 2001 UK for image IP: Logged |

TRoosevelt_26: I sent the files. CHECK YOUR MAIL ! Please read the e-mail, as it has it has some important info, the story line, and a request for a reveiw.KrisGR, I would love to post screen shots, but I would have to send them to someone and have them upload them onto the internet, since I do not know how and do not have a home page. Would you be willing to upload them if I sent them to you? That would be great if you could ! Anyone else interested? ------------------ TOMB RAIDER: THE CHIHOLTOPEC IDOL The year is 1997, and Lara is off on another adventure! Hey, Cris-Kreg - when I play your demo (with the new Script.dat and English.dat files in place and level02.TR4 in my Data folder, there isn't any sound! Is this because it's a demo, or did sound work fine on your computer?IP: Logged |

Thank goodness. I didn't want to miss out on anything because my TRLE wasn't working right (or some such problem). To tell the truth, I haven't started the level beyond dying and kicking the desk and restarting and pulling the push block once (to see if you could stand on it, because last I heard it still wasn't possible). But I promise I will play it today or tomorrow and let you know what I think when I finish. I would have started it sooner, but I am finishing the last level in Cliff Tomb at Akhetaton today (and debugging it, and moving around medipacks and ammunition to make it harder, and then playing all five levels straight through for two-and-a-half long hours), so I really haven't got the chance. Cheers! IP: Logged |

Hey, CKM. Just finished my levels early this morning, so I started yours in earnest. Haven't got far, but I had a few comments/questions: 1. Where do the dogs come frome after you pull the left lever in the first room? It looks kind of suspicious. 2. The dart in the dart hallway are just a bit high (I do it myself all the time). 3. Uhhh...is it possible to be stuck in this level and not able to complete it? Because if it is, I am. 4. Along a similar vein, if the floor falls before you grab the flares, there are floating flares. 5. If you get too high, you can see the black under the horizon. 6. Illegal slopes in the big outside room. but!! there were some very good points about this level, too. 1. I really liked the lighting, especially indoors. 2. The color of the sky was great. 3. Your placement of objects was good - not too cluttered, yet not too sparse, either. 4. Great shock effect falling through the straw pit - but you might want to texture the bottom of the square you fall through like straw as well. 5. Good wolf pack. I had to work to get past them. Will give you more feedback as I progress. KUTGW, - Teddy_26 IP: Logged |
