Howdy Pardners. I've been experimenting importing objects into TRLE with Strpix3. The models are OK but I need them to sit on the ground, at the moment the hover either 12" above or below. I've tried using other items as a guide (ie Medi bag) but my model still hovers, how can I get it to rest on ground???? BillyIP: Logged |

send a dxf of one of the objects to me. to do that go into strpix and load the wad. go to an object giving your problems and go to the file drop down menu. then click on the export dxf button. save it and send it here trnut86@wi.rr.comIP: Logged |

It may be that you have imported the object in place of an object that needs to be applied to the ceiling and then lowered into place.------------------ 'ZING' is not a word that I am familiar with, however I will make an exception to 'YOINK'. IP: Logged |

To Tomb Raider Nut. Many thanks for the reply. I'm trying to put a sword as a pick up. It will be lying next to a skeleton. The sword is scratch built. Do you want me to send this as I've saved it???? the sword that is???? BillyIP: Logged |

Where did you put the sword in the wad file? Did you try it in QUEST_ITEM1 or maybe some other pickup item?Oh, did you try selecting the object and using Floor - to lower it? If it won't go down, try using strpix to change the collision info.

I've been using the Coastal Wad for my level. I used the sword that the skeleton uses for the size. I built my own sword to this size. Went back to Srtpix3, opened up coastal wad, went to mesh#150. in room edit, this turns out to be puzzle_item5. The choice was a random one. Does this help. If I have to mess with 'collision' please explain how to do this as this facet is still new to me!!! BillyIP: Logged |

If it is a puzzle item you will be ok. But if it isn't a puzzle item, it might be best to put it into one of the Quest Item slots. To do that, you need to use TRWest. But TRWest has a small problem that makes it sometimes not work right with Strpix. You might not have to mess with collision. First, in the LE, select the sword in your level and try using Floor - to lower it onto the floor. If that doesn't work, post again.

To Aktrecker. Hey Amigo, for the books... your tip about using TRWest and a puzzle'quest'item did the trick. My sword is sitting very nicely on the sea bed..... Billy.IP: Logged |
