Hi
Recently I received Tomb Raider Chronicles for Christmas.
I've tried running the Winroomedit program, but after the program starts and flickers a couple of times, I end up with an Invalid Page Error Window message.
My PC is a Pentium 200 mmx and is still running Windows 98 and I have the latest Direct X 8.1 Installed.
Are there any suggestions that this may be a faulty copy and where can I get a good copy of this program that will work?

First make sure your monitor is set to a really high resolution, and that you are in at least 16 bit color. Did this fix it?

Hi "Raider Of Tombs' Clone",

I've changed the computer Display to Hi Colour 16 Bit at a resolution of 1024 x 768,
the same error came up.
I've also tried 256 colour with the same result.

I really do think that the original CD may have a corrupt file and it happens to be this one.

I have a friend who has the same problem. He has a Pentium 266 mmx. The same CD installs and runs ok in my computer so the problem is not in the CD. But I also want to know what the solution is.

This is the exact Window I'm getting.

Maybe someone has had this problem before...

Recently we purchased the Tomb Raider Chronicles,

The following error message comes up on screen whenever I try to run the Room Edit Program
and the program won't run at all.

WINROOMEDIT caused an invalid page fault in
module WINROOMEDIT.EXE at 015f:00445573.

Do you have the latest drivers for you video card, they really need to be optimised to work with Direct X version.8.

If not follow this guide.

  • Download and install the latest drivers for your video card.
  • Reinstall Direct X version 8.
  • Uninstall TRLE and delete any files that have been left assuming there are no user files files in any of the folders (your own TRLE .PRJ work files)
  • Restart your PC and then Reinstall TRLE making sure your monitor is set to 800x600 upwards at 16 bit.
  • TRLE should now run without the error.

Hope this clears it up, if not let me know.

Hi everybody!

Having Trouble with Windows?! Don't use DirectX 8.X! Deinstall this version (8.X) and re-install DX 7.X instead! DLD latest accellerator (video) card's drivers and install 'em. If that does not work reinstall Windows 98. I do not advise to use WinME, DirectX 8.X and WinRoomEdit without having updated your drivers the same time!

At least you must have 16mb memory RAM (266 MMX did have that range of memory)! Check your video card (8 mb required!). Quotation from Tutorial:"The Editor in some instances has slight compatibility problems with gForce
Video cards. Turning off the “Draw Doors” button fixes this."
This is the OS.dat content: you see which OS are accepted:"

Quotation end.

Hope this is helping you somewhat.
