They should be indexed on www.tombraiderchronicles.com by tomorrow or Monday. In the meantime, e-mail me (MacArthurEnterprises@juno.com) for an 88KB zip file of .jpg screenshots (fifteen total). I would much rather post them here, but I haven't got a web page. Any way I can post them here without one? Like a site that lets me post pictures there?

Oh - they're called Cliff Tomb at Akhetaton. I'll post a link as soon as Justin e-mails it to me.

In the meantime, here's a synopsis:

quote:
There are only so many places in Egypt where tombs are likely to be hidden. It simply wasn’t as easy as it sounds to breach the border with the Red Land and excavate a tomb in solitude. Workers talked, and robbers followed their god-given vocation — and the royal executioners followed theirs. But even these hard-working servants of the King, son of Horus, were not always deterrent enough to keep people away. All the ‘great’ tombs had, in reality, been looted before their rediscovery — even the famed tomb of Tutankhamon, the boy king over whose treasures all the world still looks in awe, and probably to his great displeasure.

And it was just such a fear that drove the early Pharaohs to hide their tombs in the same manner in which later ones would overpopulate the Valley of the Kings. But the early tombs were isolated — and gargantuan. And none was so large — or perhaps reputed to be so large — as the famed funerary complex of Sekhemkare. Hidden somewhere beyond the border of the Kemit in the lands approaching Nubia, that region of mystery, it has remained undisturbed for five thousand years.

But now two parties have taken an interest in the red cliffs of Akhetaton, better known as the home of Tell el Amarna, the town of the so-called ‘heretic king,’ Akhenaton. One is comprised of the members of an illegal archeological team searching for remnants of the satellite villages surounding Akhenaton’s capitol who have yet to find out what exactly they have stumbled across.

The other is Lara Croft.

As Lara enters the tomb through the original entrance, the archeological dig is rocked by an earthquake from deep in the bowels of the earth. As the cliffs begin to shear away, mankind’s natural instinct for safety is throttled by one look inside the new tunnels now gaping like open mouths at the edge of the camp.

But all is not well inside the funerary complex or out of it. While Lara fights for her life inside the pit of the spike-ridden tomb, battling through the suffocating heat of burning corridors and into caverns populated by the not-quite-dead servants of Sekhemkare, the archeologists are having troubles of their own. The German Shepherds used to keep watch around the well-hidden borders of the camp have, to a dog, become killers — the hastily thrown-up buildings scattered throughout the valley are in danger of annihilation, along with their inhabitants — the earth is shaking more frequently and with greater force — and a pony-tailed Egyptologist has just emerged from their original dig carrying enough ammunition to sink a battleship. Friendly? Maybe so. . .but if they get in her way, there’s no telling what could happen — or whether the tomb of Sekhemkare will claim two score more victims and spell the end of Lara Croft’s gun-toting career.

Because, earthquakes, demons and booby-traps or not, Lara Croft never met a tomb she didn’t like.

You're a great guy, craziej2k. The pics are too small because they were scaled down to fit in the readme file (it's a Microsoft Word document) and I didn't want it bloating too much.

But...wow! How did you do that? I have Binkster account, too, but I can't get it so people can download anything from it. It says that my site has not been made yet (or some such nonsense), even though I've posted all these pics on it. Ideas?

FAO, anyone who wants to see the pics: none of them work for me except the last one, but open the last (if it works for you), and then type in the name of the pic you want to see (it worked for me, anyway...).

it's easy just upload the files and post the address for them:
eg. to get the shark I did just go to
www22.brinkster.com/craziej2k/shark.zip
the www22.brinkster.com is the general brinkster address (the 22 may be different)
then the /craziej2k is my account name and the /shark.zip is the name of the file. just remember to add the file type after the name (ie. zip, jpg, bmp etc.)

it's easy once you get the hang of it
