I am going to make a fan made movie of tomb raider using a 3D model tool. I need actors and actresses. I am no finished with the script yet,but I need some helpers for the movie. I don't need Actors,actress, and and movie testers yet. I need at 1 person to help with the script and story line. But the person has to be good at story writing and checking to see if everything fits in with the tomb raider game. And last I need to get permission from CORE. Core has alot of e-mail addresses,witch one should I e-mail and what should I say to them? IP: Logged |

well if it was me, I wouldn't bother emailing anoyone for permission. As you said, its a fan movie - so its a movie dedicated to lara made by the fans - ie. you.afterall, if anyone gets "heavy" then ithink they are out of order cos afterall, tomb raiedr doesn't make the fans, the fans make tomb raider....  its your call...you could email them to tell them you are doing a movie and you just thought you'd let them know incase they had any ideas hehe IP: Logged |

I dont really think I need permisson,as long as I put Based on a fan made movie at the intro or credits of the movie. I think Im ok if I do that. And of coarse the fan made movie will be for free. I think CORE and EIDOS would get made if I sold it to people for money (witch is a very stupid thing to do)IP: Logged |

The real question is, can you animate? Like I assume you meant you are doing it completely CG right? Yea, if the animation is bad the movie, no matter how good a script, will be bad.IP: Logged |

Don't worry,I am not a bad animator,I have practive in gmax and poser 4(poser 4 has a reall bad animation) I will practive before I do my tomb raider fan made movie and test some moves for lara. I need someone to help with the story and script.------------------

gmax? I suggest getting Maya. It's the best 3d program out there. Make sure you use bones in your character and rig it to be the most useful. Don't use automated rigs. Have you tried 3d studio max? Don't use it. I know you are using the other one, but Maya would be the best to use. It's the most powerful. It's amazing.IP: Logged |

heh, well the version of maya i have is a lot more than 2000 dollars. Lets says 16,000 U.S dollars. If I lived in the US of course. But I live in canada so, 200,00 dollars.IP: Logged |

Maya is a great program(for professionals) I am only 13 years old. I bought truespace 4(a powerful 3d modeling program)on sale for $99. I think the real price is like 600 or 500. You can make very realistic stuff but of coarse not as good as maya,but it can make really good stuff.------------------

Nope,I just got I new computer with xp. So all my other files are on my old computer. But don't worry,you will soon be able to download movie demos with a lara croft model made by me on my site.------------------

i hate to burst your bubble, but you would need permission from Eidos to use Lara Croft and any assiciated characters, and the three year battle between film companies to make the TR movie kind of hint to me, they wont be generous with their No. 1 lady. ------------------

I think it could be done without getting permission from Core and Eidos, just so long as you push the fact that it is an unnofficial piece made by the fans. Just dot it about everywere. IP: Logged |
