Is there a way to make Lara start without pistols in holsters, i want to make a level where she only has the crossbow.

I don't think you can do that.I mean put Lara without pistols but with another weapon.You can put young Lara but you know that.Also Lara had no weapons in TRC,the submarine.I don't know how you can achieve that.

i belive the information is hard coded, so until someone can figure it out, it's not possible.
you could, however, try this. altough you can't use her pistols in the rest of the level; in trwest remove her pistols, and all that data; ie. pistols animation. place the crossbow under her feet to pick up in the beggining of the level.
i'm not quite sure if it'll work, but it's worth a try.

It probably wouldn't work because TRwest has a bundle of things you must include for the game to even work, Ie. all animations and weapons, and it won't leave you save a file until you have included the most basic of things such as pistols.
