Uhm actually,It would be original if you made your puzzles without asking for our opinion. Ofcourse, i understand that you want to have good puzzles. But mostly follow your own instinct. I am also still brainstorming which puzzles i shall put in my new levels. Its hard but will be "home made" But if you really like to know Rolling ball traps are the tombraider traps. To bad we cant use the Spike ceiling like in Tr3. You can use timed trap like in Tr 1 Palace midas with those pillars and flames. Puzzles with pushable objects arent bad either. Lot of ways to use them I have a puzzle which you have to use pushable objects to higher elivators which bring other blocks to higher places. ------------------ The best thing and last thing is to try ( ^_^ )=b IP: Logged |

You could have a hole in the ground and lara could fall in it and die if she doesnt jump over it ------------------ Currently Working On; The Dragon Ball TR Saga Often in the Chatbox / AOL Instant Messenger Name is : GoTenchiZ , MSN ; Gokuz99@hotmail.com IP: Logged |

Indeed a new puzzle is hard to invent, especially when you look back over the TR series and see actually how many there are, but they are actually the best, if you are talking about something 'strictly' puzzles. However the re-brith of and old puzzle is good if it involes something of a challenge, ie The palace of Midas fire puzzle jumping from one pillar to another (like in my new level lol) where however good you are a player, you can still fall and have to start over. I have a new puzzle in my level (I'm not going to spoil it by saying what it is) and I've seen two people testing it, and sat there for anything of up to 15 mins trying figure it out, so try an' be creative. If you know the puzzle already, the level becomes a bore doing the same old things over an' over.Vivi IP: Logged |

John, if you haven't already, buy a copy of TR1, the best puzzles are in there. Like mentioned, Palace Midas was my inspiration for that mind bazzling puzzle in my second level. I agree with Vivi, when a player just has to crack his brain in order to find the sollution to puzzles, it is a good puzzle. Use symbolics, that's what can make a puzzle really hard to crack (hmmm....I do believe I said this before....lol D and above all: keep your puzzles secret! good luck ------------------ Tomb Raider - Ancient Legends levels (2), walkthroughs, tutorials, wallpapers and other TR goodies on driber.cjb.net visit the TRLE Chatbox for live online help or just to get to know your fellow forum members :) IP: Logged |

i see new traps every where. i just look at the layout of a room, then start thinking "spikes could come out of the floor there, and ou need to do this that and the other to avoid them" i just think of something, and let the idea evolve in my head... Thats the best way i think ------------------ Check Out My Site!!! http://www.geocities.com/base_station_trle IP: Logged |

Ditto what tombs_on_the_brain said. I usually don't decide on a room and then think of traps for it - I think of main rooms for my level and then think of traps to go between them. Then I build rooms made to suit the traps perfectly - that's why I plot my level out before I start on it. Sure, it changes along the way, but my trap rooms are always planned in advance (with a few exceptions). Sorry I can't offer suggestions - whenever I think of a trap, I always draw it out and save it for future reference. IP: Logged |
