i made a transparent ladder but its black in game, how can i fix this?????

Is the ladder against the wall, or in the middle of the room.
If it's the first there's no way to fix this cause the hoizon (or blackness) will show.

its in the middle of the room, its black when i look up at it but i noticed when i get higher to almost a level with the horizon then its transparent, strange!

hmmm.... strange. are you using the colors under the flip palette button? if you are, did you use the black one cause that's the only transparent one.

I copied a ladder in texture edit, painted the (transparent) parts purple and then saved it as a new texture map, it works but only when i look up at it, maybe a problem with my video card??

Sorry, but that's wrong! The grey one right next to the black one is also a transparent one.

Black is for seeing the sky/horizon. Grey is for seeing through to the next room.

(Manual, Pages 54, 67 & 68.

I remember that in the manual, and used to believe it. But I tried using ANY color, and it ends up transparent. In fact, any surface with a color is not included in the room mesh, so you can see thru it. Very strange.

ohhh, so that's why i saw it in tomb of seth. i always wondered why they used gray instead of black. duh!
