I have this level which Aloc File buffer is 7403300 or something, anyway it is very very close to 7500000 as far as i know this is the limit for it. If it passes over this strange things happens to your level, i tested it above this limit and yes, rolling balls that float, torches that dont burnquestion is, how can i reduce this Buffer. ------------------ The best thing and last thing is to try ( ^_^ )=b IP: Logged |

I believe it stands for "allocated file buffer." I am not sure how to reduce this, but would like to know several things that might help:1. How many rooms are in your level? 2. How many objects? 3. How many triggers? 4. How many Baddy_AI's? 5. How many Room Tex Info's? IP: Logged |

If the file buffer is around 755000 then the level crashes. The first level of the crusade was over this number. Then i found out how to reduce it. It's a simple trick actually but ofcourse there are limits. Take a look at your rooms. Have you many walls in them. I mean do you have many walls that are not used. If you have a large room and you have a set of walls to create a little corridor to another room then you must split the room apart from the little corridor. Then the walls that are not used are gone and wont take memory. Even a room full of walls that is not used will take memory. This way i managed to make the level just big enough.IP: Logged |

Thanks Piega, but i also found out that reducing the size of your wad lowers the buffer. I deleted some animated objects ( which i dont need ) like the skeleton and mummy. and it did dropped. ------------------ The best thing and last thing is to try ( ^_^ )=b IP: Logged |

That's funny...I just converted the final version of the flyby for my Peru game, and got Alloc File Buffer 7677675. And the Tomb2pc hasn't crashed yet, either. Can't figure out why... IP: Logged |
