I have this level which Aloc File buffer is 7403300 or something, anyway it is very very close to 7500000 as far as i know this is the limit for it. If it passes over this strange things happens to your level, i tested it above this limit and yes, rolling balls that float, torches that dont burn

question is, how can i reduce this Buffer.

I believe it stands for "allocated file buffer." I am not sure how to reduce this, but would like to know several things that might help:

1. How many rooms are in your level?
2. How many objects?
3. How many triggers?
4. How many Baddy_AI's?
5. How many Room Tex Info's?

1 100 rooms
2 149 of the 256
3 202 of the 512
4 0 AI
5 127

Current Aloc File buffer is

6990127 of 7500000

If the file buffer is around 755000 then the level crashes. The first level of the crusade was over this number. Then i found out how to reduce it. It's a simple trick actually but ofcourse there are limits. Take a look at your rooms. Have you many walls in them. I mean do you have many walls that are not used. If you have a large room and you have a set of walls to create a little corridor to another room then you must split the room apart from the little corridor. Then the walls that are not used are gone and wont take memory. Even a room full of walls that is not used will take memory. This way i managed to make the level just big enough.

Thanks Piega, but i also found out that reducing the size of your wad lowers the buffer. I deleted some animated objects ( which i dont need ) like the skeleton and mummy. and it did dropped.

That's funny...

I just converted the final version of the flyby for my Peru game, and got Alloc File Buffer 7677675. And the Tomb2pc hasn't crashed yet, either. Can't figure out why...
