Sounds Good To Me

I Agree too but is Core Design/Eidos actually gonna be interested in any idea we have?, They are a commercial company who have made lots of money out of us buying their games, do they really care about what we want?IP: Logged |

I sign too, but...First of all I really doubt they'll do this. And I don't know if I'd want to have the previous Level editors, I more tend to what aktrekker said. The source codes would be better than the previous LE's. Think about it! Let's take the TR3 editor, well there wont be much differences from the LE we have, but still it's an older version, you wont be able to make fly-bys as I've never seen one in TR3. TR2 editor will be a big way down from the third one, Lara couldn't crawl, dash, monkey swing and stuff like that. TR1 editor, we couldn't even have outside rooms! And btw there is allready an unnoficial LE made by Turbo Pascal, and you can make levels with it even from the chronicles! IP: Logged |

Those are all valid points, but I would rather be limited and have games like the old ones. I'm making a set of Peru levels right now in which you'll never need to monkey swing, crawl, sprint or twist mid-air to finish - because I like TR1. And I would love to have all the enemies from all the games working correctly in their actual slots. IP: Logged |

if you read TRoosevelt's first post, you'd notice that if they accept, Eidos would make money out of releasing an add-on cd, thus making it profitable for them IP: Logged |

TRoosevelt - If we get the source code for tomb4, we can create slots for all objects in previous games, and make them work correctly with TRLE.

Hi, first, Iīll sign, too. BUT: I think itīs very nice of you for writing such a letter, but someone from the German Forum (Uzi) tried that, too. The following happened: Uzi wrote an e-mail to Eidos Germany a long time ago. He was very friendly in his letter and asked some questions: Can you give us a complete list of all OCB codes? Is rain possible? and so on.... 2 days later, he got the following answer from eidos: (I hope, I remember enough): Dear Mr. Pawlus,we think itīs fantastic that you know so much about the LE. But, unfortunately, thereīs nobody here at Eidos Germany, who has such a knowledge about the LE and can answer your questions. I think, we have to talk to Core Design for that. If you want that, please send us a mail back translated your questions from German into English and we will send this letter to Core Design. Sincerly I donīt remember the name Uzi answered the following: Fantastic, thank you! (or something like that). Iīll post our mails at the Tomb Raider level Editor Forum at your Eidos Germany Page and collect suggestions and questions the people want to ask to core design. --------------------------------------- He posted his mails at the German forum and we collected all the things: Can you give us previous les? Can you give us an update for rain/snow? What about a complete ocb list? and many many more....we asked all things, we wanted to know or we wanted to have. 2 weeks after the writing of this topic, Uzi sent a mail translated into English to Eidos again. This was in October. And now? We didnīt get an answer yet . I think, itīs worthless to try that again now, but if you want to.....then try it. I hope, we will have more success this time. So I sign too: Daniel Seebacher, Germany. Cu Daniel [This message has been edited by [Daniel] (edited 01-26-2002).] [This message has been edited by [Daniel] (edited 01-26-2002).] IP: Logged |
