I've seen people say it stands for 'No Lens [Flare]', and I've seen others say that some (specifically, Tomoko) have converted a .TR4 file (with all the rooms NL'd) into a .TR2 file and played it under a cracked TR3 demo, and all the rooms were mud.

So...

It could be possible that 'NL' stands for 'No Lense [Flare]' in the TR4 level editor, and in its place in the TR3 level editor was a button labeled 'B' for 'Bog' (or something like that). So when TR2prj converts a .TR2 level to a .PRJ file, all 'B' rooms show up as 'NL' rooms in the TR4 level editor. Conversely, 'NL' rooms in the TR4 level editor could actually be 'No Lense [Flare]' rooms (the 'NL' button replacing the 'B' button from the TR3 level editor). Just a thought...

No, I've looked, too - nothing. "Is not used," I believe. And why (while we're listing enigmas here) does the "D" button turn to a red "D" when depressed and then a red "P" when clicked on again?

Hmmm, anyone?

LOL

Well, the NL button is used in my level Secrets Beneath The Streets, and it's used in small windy tunnels (NL only works in rooms with the O button (Outside) toggled on) to prevent the lens flare from coming inside.

The "D/P" button creates a strange white glow on the bottom-most room (if your rooms are stacked).

Try it, it's weird.

Could you please show some screenshots? That would be cool.

The Red L button is lock 2d map rooms. So this way you cant move any rooms that are linked with a portal.
