ok i got the trial version from a free cd i got from a pc magazine. it's a 30 day trial of paint shop pro 7. i have been on this site and i got lots of great textures for my level. i no the pixels size has got to be 64 x 64. i changed the size of the picture i downloaded to 64 x 64. and saved it as tga but when i went onto the editor and tried to open the texture i just resized it says incorrect tga format? the size is right (64 x 64) but why won't it work?does there have to be a certain BIT or something?

64x64 is just a single tile in the TGA.
The TGA file itself must be 256 or 512 wide. The height must be a multiple of 64.

It must also be saved Uncompressed and in 24 bits. In PSP7, click "File", "Save As...". Choose the TGA file type. Now, you should see a button called "Options" some where under the "Save" button in the "Save As..." window. Click it and make sure the options are "24 bits" and "Uncompressed". Now save. These options should stay this way from now on.
