Howdy pardners! I'm having a problem texturing my 3d objects. When I bring my new object into Strpix3 and go to texture it, the object has become transparent instead of being solid???? It's doing my head in as we say out here on the prairie... can some one please tell me how to get around this... BillyIP: Logged |

How exactly is it transparent? Are the faces just inverted?IP: Logged |

Howdy Just/n If by 'inverted' you mean inside out then yes that may be my problem. It's like looking through an x-ray machine when I'm assigning textures. Some times it does work how it should (textures assigned to the outside faces) but not always.... how do I get around this problem...BillyIP: Logged |

I think this has to do with righthand/lefthand notation. What program are you using to create your object meshes? If it is one used by other members in the forum, I'm sure the settings have probably been posted here before. Perhaps a search would help, like Rhino settings, or meta settings. You might also have to invert the Y axis, as I think TR has it backwards from both orientations.

Muchos Gracias Amigos... I've been using Metas.... and when I came home from work earlier on I had another go with another object again using Metas and Strpix3 and played around with the 'save' settings in Metas... this time it worked, the textures went to the outside faces as it should. This does not mean ol' Billy has cracked it, but I'm fealing a bit more like I'm getting some were... billy IP: Logged |

Oh I hate Meta! But you're in luck with Meta, because I think you can "invert faces", select the faces and then invert them and this will flip them. But I forgot if you can tell or not while in Meta which way the faces appear. Oh well I hope this helps solving it all IP: Logged |

Do a search on meta. There was a post that gave the exact settings you need to work with TR objects.
