I am working on some trees in my level right now. Does anyone have some suggestions about how to do them really well? So far they are not very easy. If you want some screen shots I will send them. Thanx .IP: Logged |

Do you mean trees like in the Lara's Home training levels from TR2 and TR3 and the title flyby from TR5, or trees like in India (TR3)? Because the last are hard - I've tried them.IP: Logged |

In my experience of trees, I have found them to be unrealistic if made very large as the branches end up as thick as the trunk. The only real alternative if you want trees to look authentic, is to keep them short (no more than 8 to 12 clicks high) and forget about Lara running along branches. My first level was to have contained trees, however they were not acceptable even though a few of you thought they looked ok in the screenshots. The Tombraider world is better suited to smaller rooms and buildings as they are naturally square; trees are not. ------------------ Learn to respond, not react IP: Logged |

In my first project (not the one soon to be released), who was either lost or deleted, I made some beutifull trees, even if they were VERRRY big, and most of them fallen, they looked nice. As I said that project was lost and never found again unfortunatly IP: Logged |

Thanx for your guy's imput. Trees are really hard, but I am actually going quite well at the moment with building them. If anyone wants screenshots, I will send them to you. Again, Thanx.IP: Logged |

What ever you do dont make the wafer thin trees that are just like an X , If you are meshing trees Create a sturdy looking trunk and then make a Leafy Branch then copy the leaf and create a good tree actually i might have a go myself , i just had a cool vision of a scary looking branchy tree with no leaves , ( what did the tree from Tr5 look like with the guy hanging from the tree ) hmm ------------------ Currently Working On; Lara's Toy Story Often in the Chatbox / AOL Instant Messenger Name is : GoTenchiZ , MSN ; Gokuz99@hotmail.com IP: Logged |
